CHAPTER 1:
THE VESSEL
"M-Mom, p-please..."
The sound of a child crying echoed softly inside a worn-down apartment as a tall, skinny-looking woman, probably in her late twenty with a messy raven hairs, sickly pale skin and a pair of dark onyx eyes, grabbed her son harshly with his thin arm and hushed him by cupping his nose and mouth with her long hand. "SHUT UP!" she screeched as she pushed her hand firmly on his face, smothering the little boy.
The boy struggled as hard as his small body can, sobbing profusely as he begged his mother to let him go. She was scaring him. The woman deafened her ears to his cry and screamed for him to stop crying, over and over again. "SHUT UP! SHUT UP!"
Suddenly, a loud knock on their apartment's door broke their argument. She pulled away from the little boy and glanced behind her at the door. A light instantly entered her cold dead eyes as a huge gleeful smile appeared on her sunken face. "Finally," she grinned, laughing maniacally as she grabbed the boy and pulled him along with her towards the door.
She twisted the door open and looked up at the tall, huge man stood before her. "Took you long enough," she said, glaring at him for being late. The man grunted, face twisted in disgust at her seedy appearance as he looked behind her to see the boy. A look of interest instantly appeared in his eyes as he motioned for the child.
The woman frowned and pushed the boy to him. "Here he is. Now, give me the money you promise."
The man grabbed the boy's head and forced him to lift his head up to see his face. The boy was young, probably around five years old or so. He had dark, bronze coloured hairs, healthy peachy skin and a pair of deep orange eyes with mixture of purple that he never seen before. 'Like a setting sun,' his mind whispered. He could sell the boy with a huge price for his unique eyes.
Satisfied with his good, he gave the woman a full envelope of cash, "I take him."
The boy's eyes widened in fear. 'No, it can't be,' his mind screamed. He turned around and quickly ran towards his mother, hugging her tightly on her petite waist. "N-No m-mom! Please!."
The woman frowned in disgust and threw him off from her, "Get the fuck away from me!"
"N-No please!"
A huge hand instantly grabbed the back of the boy's neck, squeezing its slightly as a warning that if he misbehaved, he could snapped his neck any time he wants. The boy froze in fear. His heart began to race as he quickly thrashed his body around in hope of escaping the man's hold. "L-Let me go!" he screamed, trying his best to scratch the hand behind his neck.
