When I woke up the next morning Spencer was still snoring quietly beside me. I smiled to myself as memories from the previous night came back; every kiss, every touch. It had been better than I'd ever imagined. Without waking him, I climbed out of the bed and pulled on my robe. I tied the belt in a careful knot around my middle and left the bedroom, closing the door behind me. Donnie immediately began rubbing himself against my legs. He was hungry so I fed him before pouring myself a glass of water. My phone was on the countertop where I'd left it last night and when I checked it I realised I had two missed calls from Penelope and three text messages.
Hotch wants everyone at the BAU in an hour.
The second one contained the same message and the third was the most recent.
BAU in fifteen minutes!!
A small groan escaped my lips as I realised Penelope had sent that text ten minutes ago and there was no way we'd be on time now. Quickly, I went back into the bedroom and got back into the bed, putting my arms around Spencer's bare middle and resting my head on his chest. He stirred and I watched his eyelids flutter open.
"Good morning." I smiled. He opened his mouth to respond but I cut him off. "We're supposed to be at the BAU in five minutes."
"Crap!" Spencer exclaimed. He pushed me off of him and jumped out of the bed.
"Spence, I'll just tell Penelope we're stuck in traffic it's fine." I laughed as I watched him rush around the bedroom, throwing on his clothes from the night before.
"Have you met Penelope Garcia? She'll know we haven't even left yet."
"You're right." I admitted before grabbing some clothes from my closet and dressing quickly. I should have opted for some of the clothing Penelope had chosen for me since I was leaving the apartment but I didn't have time to navigate and put together all the colours so instead I threw on a black tank top and some black skinny jeans instead. I pulled my hair up into a ponytail and slipped my feet into my sneakers before turning back to Spencer who was ready and picking up his leather satchel.
"Lets go." Spencer said. We locked up my apartment and Spencer drove us the half hour journey to the BAU. We probably could have made it in half the time but he was insistent on not breaking any speed limits or running any lights. When we did finally arrive, the team were already gathered around the round table.
"Look who finally decided to join us." Derek teased as we walked into the room. The whole team looked up and took in our messy appearances.
"Sorry." I muttered before taking a seat in-between Emily and Aaron. Spencer walked round to the other side of the table and sat between Penelope and Morgan who nudged him and wiggled his thick eyebrows suggestively.
"Prentiss, Rossi what did you find at the phone store?" Aaron asked them firmly, ignoring Derek's teasing of Spencer and I. Rossi cleared his throat and gestured for Penelope to load up a video on the big screen.
"So this is the security footage from inside the mall on the day that the cell phone was purchased. We believe that this is our unsub." Rossi said before pointing to a dark figure in the grainy black and white video.
"He was careful to not show his face to any of the cameras indicating a knowledge of the building." Emily added. "The phone shop didn't have any security cameras of their own but the employee was able to describe the guy who bought the phone. He was a white male in his early thirties with blonde hair wearing glasses. He had no defining marks or scars but she said she might be able to describe him to a sketch artist for us so we're setting that up. She's going to come back later once her shift is over."
