Mina's POV
The events were flashed across the news. Indicating that the earthquake and rain went far, reaching the borders of Bhutan. But what's weird is that they couldn't pinpoint as to where it came from, but they said that it came near Japan.
I left Chaeyoung earlier. Running to my dorm room for dear life, the one that Sana and I share. I love her but I didn't want to hear what she has to say because for sure, it was full of balderdash.
For the past few months, that's all she has been doing. Drinking with her friends, lying, and not giving me the time of the day. I'm not asking her for her full attention since I know that we're both busy but still, I just need updates, in which, she doesn't give. But if she does, it was all tainted with lies.
And I am sure sick of it. She was loving and perfect throughout our relationship which is on its second year. But from what she's showing right now? I'm not sure about her anymore.
Skipping lunch was a bad idea, I felt drained and lazy. Luckily, I bought cup ramen last night after moving all my stuff. In which, I forgot to eat too because my time was consumed by my worrying about Chaeyoung.
"Okay. It's time to read you up" sitting down on my chair ,with my ramen in my hand, observing the book, I was anxious as to why this is named "Fading page". Also, what's strange is that I didn't know that I understand Japanese. Considering that I have only lived in two countries, USA and Korea, in which none of them are named Japan. The words just start to feed me information naturally like I've known and learned it for years.
Opening up to the third page, my eyes scanned the scripture. Reading it fluently really shocked me.
Storm after storm, the seas were already considered as a graveyard. Many men lost their lives on the area. They never knew why it happened at first, not until, it rose from the deep.
Its black scales were almost invisible at night but glistened under the raging sun. It was unpiercable by any blade made by forgers. Breathing hell's fire that can not be extinguished by water, engulfed the ships that passed by it.
シーフ or shīfu
アブソーバ or abusōba
The people called it. It helped nearby villages but despises travelers, killing them as they journeyed to the land.
"Does that make me attractive in your eyes?" My eyes widened
A person was in my room. And I'm sure as heck it wasn't Sana.
I quickly stood up and pointed my chopsticks at this tall person. Not a good choice for a weapon but... Everything can kill so...
He raised his hands, "Easy there, princess. I mean no harm" bowing mockingly at the process.
I didn't waver. What is this person doing here? How? The doors and windows were locked, I'm sure of it.
"Who are you? How did you even get in here? Are you a friend of Chaeyoung's? Did she set you up in this?" I asked, scooting towards the door.
"Chaeyoung? You cheating on me?"
I went closer, not bringing my metal chopstick down.
"Hey hey! I was only joking!" He smiled
I shook my head, can this day get any worse?
"Please, I'm not in the mood for this. I had a ro-"
"Then don't stress yourself then" he sat down at my chair, resting his head on his arms.
"How can I not stress myself if there's a stranger here in my dorm!? And is probably going to kill me!?" I couldn't take this anymore.
