Chapter 16: Epilogue

Emma's POV 

I can't believe Killian proposed!  Killian and I decided to wait until the next day before we tell anyone.  What will my parents say?  They'll probably threaten Killian.  And Henry?  I know he likes Killian, but does he like him that much? 

I got back to the apartment and found my parents in a good mood.  Henry was staying at Regina's tonight, so I didn't have to worry about keeping it from him.  I kept my hand under my jacket so they couldn't see the ring, but I didn't want to take it off. 

"You're in a good mood."  Snow said with a smile. 

"Yeah, well so are you."  I said. 

"Yeah.  I guess we are.  So, how was your evening?"  David asked. 

I couldn't stop a smile from covering my face.  "It was great.  I had a wonderful time." 

"Anything exciting?"  Snow asked eagerly. 

"A nice, relaxing, fun, evening." 

She looked disappointed with that answer.

"Where you expecting a different answer?"  I asked my mother. 

"I don't know.  You're sure nothing happened?"  She asked again. 

I laughed a little, but David answered for me.  "Snow, you already asked that.  Come on, it's late, and I think it would be a good idea to go to bed."  Snow looked a little disappointed, but agreed. 

I went to my room and stared at the ring as I kept replaying the proposal in my mind.  I fell asleep with the ring on my finger, and smile on my face, and had dreams about a future with my true love.

"I know you're keeping something from me."  Henry said as I walked with him towards Granny's. 

I sighed.  Today's the day I tell my parents and my son that Killian proposed.  "Henry, I'll tell you.  Ok?  Just wait for now, please."  I asked him. 

He didn't look happy, but he didn't argue, thankfully.  I'd kept my hand in my pocket so people wouldn't see the ring, but that was just until my family knew. 

Henry and I walked into Granny's and I saw my parents, my baby brother, and my fiancé at a large both.  Killian's back was to us, but my parents smiled when they saw me and Henry.  Killian got up and turned around, a huge smile on his face.  Henry slid to the inside of the booth, I sat in the middle, and Killian sat on the end. 

"Now can you tell me what's going on?"  Henry asked again.  Killian chuckled, and grabbed my hand.  I pulled my other hand, the one with the ring on it, out of my pocket and grabbed Henry's hand. 

"Don't worry kid.  You'll find out soon."  I smiled. 

His hand hit the ring and he looked down.  Then he held my hand up and stared at the ring.  Snow gasped a little and David smiled. 

"Wait, why are you smiling?  We haven't told you yet."  I asked my father. 

"What?  You didn't think I'd propose without getting your parents' blessing first do you?"  Killian smirked. 

"He proposed!?"  Henry and Ruby both said loud enough that the diner went quite. 

Killian addressed everyone.  "Yes.  I proposed to Emma.  Now go back to your own lives!"  He yelled.  Everyone started whispering and talking, but I looked at my parents. 

"You knew?  Both of you?  That's why you asked if anything happened, isn't it?"  I asked them. 

"Of course!"  Snow said.
