If a broken vase is mended with glue, you know it won't ever be the same as if was before right? So if you break it again and again those tiny pieces lost along the way will make it harder for you to form a full vase once again... So, don't you think that it's best to keep it protected until it's necessary to use? You can't quite afford to keep losing those small tiny pieces everywhere. If so, you might end up with only half a vase...
What makes this different than a heart? All those words thrown at you will only shatter that wall you once built but what if harsh and dirty words will be thrown at you constantly? That wall will surely break no? What then? Are you going to glue it back together and act as of nothing happened?
