13 Days Left Until The Ball

Ruby is hanging out in her room as the weather outside is unsettling. It's raining outside and thunder roars across the grey sky. "Looks, terrible outside," Chip comments. "I know, I guess I have no other choice but to stay inside until the rains stop at least," Ruby sighs. They hear someone knock on the door, Chip opens the door, revealing one of the castle's maids.

"I apologize for interrupting, your highness, but his highness, Prince Seokjin is here and would like to speak with you, privately," she said. "Send him to my room," Ruby says as the maid bows and leaves.

"I wonder why he's here," she thought. Ruby waits for a few moments when she sees Prince Seokjin appear at the door. "Hello Princess Ruby, you don't mind if I enter?" He asked for Ruby's permission. "Not at all, please do come in." Prince Seokjin steps inside the princess' bedroom before silently closing the door.

"I've come here to tell you news about The Lost Prince," Prince Seokjin said in a happy tone. "Really?!" She excitedly asked. "Yes! Supposedly there was evidence that shows the last traces before the prince disappeared." He pulls out an old-looking Mao from his coat and rolls hit ion to reveal a spitting drawing of the whole kingdom. There were red marks that indicate the tares of The Lost Prince.

"As you can see, the traces start from Rumba Beach, the pier where the boat was found. Meaning, The Lost Prince must've left the boat and following the trace, he must've walked all the way, passing Jive Park, through Samba Square then went straight to the Enchanted Forest besides Foxtrot Forest." He traces with his finger, trailing the direction The Lost Prince last walked.

"So he disappeared there?" She asked. "Well, most likely yes. The enchanted animals have already been questioned about any whereabouts of The Lost Prince and none of them couldn't even remember since it was a long time ago."

"Thank you Prince Seokjin for telling me this and showing me the map. How did you get your hands on it?" She asked. "I'm very glad you asked because I actually visited the sheriff and he took out some files and I saw the map peeking through one of the files while he wasn't looking. I secretly took it and tucked it in my coat before he could see me." He promises that he will return the map to the sheriff.

They both laugh for a while after Prince Seokjin's confession. "I haven't laughed so hard since... since that time-" he catches his breath, before continuing, "when I was really young, there was this princess I used to play with a lot before I met Princess Juliana." Ruby is interested in Prince Seokjin's story. "One day, that princess drew a picture of me, and I found that picture funny," he chuckles.

"Oh really?" Ruby asked with a small giggle. "Yes! As a token of my gratitude, I gave her a necklace- I'm sorry if my story sounds boring, would you like to talk about something else?" He asked.

"No, go on!" She urges the prince, wanting to find out what happens next. "I have come to a realization that that necklace turned out to be a national treasure. That necklace was my grandmother's, it caused a big commotion in my castle. I confessed to my parents and to my grandmother, and she accepted my apology. I remembered her telling me that the necklace was a gift from my grandfather. She hoped to give the necklace to me and gift it to a princess I loved." Ruby thinks his story sounded like a romance story.

But she couldn't believe it was a different princess rather than Princess Juliana. The prince immediately spots her very sparkly Emerald necklace on the wall. "Princess Ruby, that emerald necklace, it's the one I gave to that princess," he said as he stands up from the large bed. Ruby's eyes widened, remembering the real princess' warning about the Emerald necklace that she mentioned was very important to her.

Prince Seokjin walks over to the Emerald necklace that's hanging on the wall in a frame. He holds it in his hand, his thumb caresses over the green diamond. "This is the exact necklace I gave to that princess. This necklace is one of a kind, no other replica could be any better than the original," he says.

Prince Seokjin looks over at Ruby, trying to figure out what's going on. "Prince Seokjin, are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Ruby asked, coming to a surprising realization. "Princess Ruby! I am so stupid for now remembering, I didn't know you were that princess I met! You're the princess I gave the emerald necklace to!" Ruby is stunned not knowing how to reply or what to say, but she figures if it happened with the real princess, then it most likely happened to her, in her real world.

"I guess long time no see even though we see each other pretty often now," he laughs. "I cannot believe you've been treasuring this necklace all this time? Thank you so much," he gently smiles. "O-Oh, yeah, I should thank you for giving me that necklace," Ruby awkwardly laughs.

"Do you remember the picture you drew of me? Do you remember what you said to me then?" He asked which made Ruby more nervous. But a sudden memory hits her mind, letting her blurt out what came to in mind. "You look like a fluffy alpaca!" She shouts. "Yes! That was so funny! I was eating coconut-flavored cotton candy and it went all in my hair."

They laugh at the memory, Ruby began teasing the prince before taking a deep breath to relax. "That was so long ago, you haven't changed a bit. To be able to meet again like this, it's a miracle," he huskily speaks as he grabs both of Ruby's hands. "T-That's true," she blushes. His fingers push a few strands of hair behind her ear before brushing his fingers against her soft cheek.

"I like you, Princess Ruby, I do hope you choose me as your partner at the ball," he whispers. "There will be a dinner party for the king's birthday, I think you two will be the perfect pair," Chip squeals in excitement.

"Then, Princess Ruby, will you be my partner for the dinner party?" He asked. "Yes, Prince Seokjin," Ruby smiles. The two continued talking about their fond memories from their childhood, Chip had figured out that Ruby and Princess Ruby share the same memories, but she'll probably tell Ruby about it later.

The rain finally stopped and the sky was cleared with the sun shining upon the kingdom. Prince Seokjin returned to the royal hotel, kissing Ruby on the cheek as he left. Ruby steps outside the castle, admiring the way the sun's rays shined down the kingdom after the stormy weather. "Princess Ruby." Ruby hears someone shout her name.

She spots Prince Yoongi by the castle's all gates. "Didn't Prince Yoongi say he wanted to see you?" Chip asked. "Yes, at Viennese Waltz Lake," Ruby answers and walks towards the large gates. "Hello, Prince Yoongi," Ruby waves.

"I- uh, do you want to go to Viennese Waltz Lake?" He asked, nervously scratching the back of his neck. Ruby chuckles, tucking her arm under his. They both walked their way to the lake, and for some reason, Prince Yoongi feels somewhat nervous it's like he already developed feelings for her.

He thinks he cannot hold onto his feelings, he thinks it's right if he confesses to her now or never. But then if he confesses to her right now, he'll think she would reject him. "Hey, are you okay?" She asked, cutting his thoughts. "Oh- I, um, nothing much- I mean, everything is totally fine," he stumbles his words.

Ruby could tell that Prince Yoongi wasn't okay. They approached the lake, they stared at the beautiful scenery. though it had already rained, They don't plan on sitting anywhere muddy or wet, Prince Yoongi offers her a small walk down the trail. Ruby knows something is up and wants to help the prince.

She looks up at Prince Yoongi's face, she looked like he was depressed. Is it because he's leaving in a few days for the World Competition? But before Ruby could ask him what the matter is, he spoke first. "Princess Ruby, there's something I would like to tell you." Prince Yoongi becomes more nervous than ever.

They take a moment to stop so that Prince Yoongi could properly speak and so that Ruby comes to listen. Prince Yoongi takes his time yet Ruby is curious to hear what he has to say. Prince Yoongi's heart beats uncontrollably and he began to sweat underneath his clothes, it's like he's not ready just yet to confess.

The prince instantly becomes shy and is too frightened, he's never felt like this before. "I am very sorry, there was something I wanted to tell you but I'm not ready." The way Ruby looks at him, he blushes a deep shade of red, he turns around and walks away.

Ruby thought could it be... a love confession...?
