Ashton's POV
Michael, Luke and I walked down the hall to our room after a long day of recording. But it sucked, Calum was never there, so we kinda did worse than we do without him, obviously. But we didn't want to bother him about it. Even though we had never experienced anything near what they had. We had never been in love, we didn't even know what it was, but we could still tell that Macie and Calum were.
We finally got the key card to work after about a billion tries and Luke and Michael automatically rushed into their bedroom to pass out, recording was tiring.
My eyes drooped, signaling I was really tired as well, so I thought I'd take a nap too. Before I headed to my room, I went to get a banana from the counter in the kitchen. I walked over to the counter with my hands over my eyes, rubbing them when my foot ran into something in the ground. I opened my eyes and peered on the counter to find an empty pill bottle with some kind of medication.
And then I looked down.
Laying there in silence on the ground was my bandmate, Calum.
"OH MY GOD." My shriek filled the warm air of the hotel room and I hear a thump followed by the footsteps of Michael and Luke rushing into the kitchen with me and unconscious Calum.
"WHAT THE FUCK IS GOIN-"
"Calum?" Luke everything but whispered.
"He's not breathing what the fuck do we do?!" I panicked.
"We need to take him to the emergency room." Luke stated calmly.
"How the fuck did this even happen?"
"Luke how are you being calm about this I mean look at this, there is a bottle of pills on the damn counter and he is passed out on the kitchen floor."
"PILLS!?" They both yelled at the same time.
"Come in we're going to the ER."
I picked Cal up and carried him bridal-style to the door, leading the other two behind me. Normally, I would be laughing right now from carrying him the way I was, but in this case, all I could do was worry about my practical little brother. My eyes began to gloss as I rushed out to the car that was parked outside the hotel.
"What do we do with him?" Michael questioned.
"Uhh just uhm.. I don't know lay him down in the back seat and Luke you can sit with his head in your lap.. Mikey you come up here." I patted the seat next to me as I started up the car.
Then we sped off to the hospital.
--
After he got hooked up to the bed and everything, we all sat around him. If there was one thing anyone could describe the feeling in this room to be, it would be scared.
All you could hear in the room was the light steady beep of the machine, and out of habit, my hands began to pat on the table beside me as if I was drumming to the beat.
"Really man?" Luke scolded me.
"Sorry, it's just habit."
"I know."
We sat there a little longer looking at the floor and then, all of a sudden, the room was at utmost silence. Complete. Silence.
My eyes shot up and my heart began racing as the sound came back but this time it wasn't beeping, at was a long, straight line of sound that peirced my ears.
My palms began to sweat and I shot up from my chair.
"We need a doctor, we need a doctor he's dying!" I shouted. I didn't even notice the warm tears that ran down my face.
"What shit no!" Michael yelled.
Luke was just silently running around the room and panting.
Soon enough a doctor burst through the door and ran straight to Calum. As I banged my hands on the wall in tears, minutes later, the doctor turned to us.
"He's-he's gone."
The words that went through my head at that moment made my whole body freeze. No. My brother was not dead. He-he couldn't be.
"NO!" I screamed at the doctor with rage.
"I'm so sorry."
"NO THIS FUCKING HAPPENS ALL OF THE TIME YOU'RE NOT SORRY YOU DIDN'T EVEN KNOW HIM NO HE CAN'T BE GONE HE'S ONLY 19."
I couldn't help the words that came out of my mouth, I was outraged. It was almost as if everyone in the room had disappeared and I fell onto the floor in tears and grabbed my knees, pulling them up to my chest.
Calum's POV
It was black at first, but then I woke up in a hospital room. But I wasn't in the bed. I stood across from the room, and odd enough, Ashton was sitting in the middle of it with his head buried into his knees. Michael looked off into the distance with a single tear trickling from his eye, sitting in a chair.
And then Luke. His head was turned from me and he kept hanging it against the wall and pounding on it with his fist. Tears threatened to spill from his eyes and he covered his face with his hands as his whole body shook. He was sobbing. I couldn't hear anything, but I could tell he was. And then what I saw when I turned to look at the hospital bed was just, unreal.
It was me.
I was laying in the hospital bed completely unmoved, untouched. My eyes were closed and my mouth was shut, and when I looked at the heart monitor, it was a straight line.
Was I?
No.. I was?
It actually worked. I was gone.
Just then, weird as it was, there was a bright light, so I walked towards it.
It was almost as if I was walking through a hall of nothing but white lights, and at the end of the tunnel was an even brighter one, just then, a figure appeared.
Macie's POV
I woke up without any hurt. None. There was no pain in my head, and I looked at my arms and thighs, there were no cuts, no scars, no blood. Just pure, baby-like skin. That's the moment I knew where I was.
I was in heaven.
