Lightened Burdon

I wrote all my deepest dreams and worries on a boat
A little paper symbol of my heavy, heavy hopes
I did it to find out if they were light enough to float
If the lake would be indifferent to the lump inside my throat

If the world sees my afflictions as weightless as a leaf
Then perhaps it's best to leave them there
For the lake to decompose
