It was hard saying goodbye to all of her friends. Remi felt a little like she was getting left behind. She made plans with the girls to get brunch when Yvette got back from visiting her dad in two weeks. She also made plans to watch a game later in the week with Travis since he lived in town.

Remi busied herself with cleaning up the house when everyone left. She insisted that they spend their last morning together enjoying each other instead of  doing chores. Whiskey followed her from room to room as she striped the beds and started the laundry. Next she tackled the trash, then the living room, and finally the kitchen. It was almost dinner time when she finally had everything vacuumed, cleaned, folded, and back in place.

She pulled out some leftovers from the bonfire and poured herself a glass of red wine. She took her plate and drink out to the back patio and sat facing the sunset. The warm glow of the sun bounced across the water as it lapped at the bank. She had an overwhelming sense of calm wash over her sitting there. She wasn't sure what came next, but she was at peace.

The weeks passed quickly. Remi and Travis had actually gotten together a couple times to watch Stanley Cup games. The final series was starting soon. She planned a girls day with Kate where they got manicures and pedicures then finished the night watching romantic comedies until Ruddy got home. She ended up staying the night with the two and having breakfast with Ruddy the next morning. She'd spent the last week chatting back and forth with one of the girls she interned with, June. Remi loved hearing about what June was doing at her new firm, which made her even more excited to get to work.

Before she knew it, Remi was sitting outside the locally owned brunch spot Sunday waiting on Yvette and Sienna to arrive. Of course they were fashionably late, so she ordered a little appetizer and a pitcher of mimosas. She was picking at the pastry in front of her, scrolling through Instagram when the two arrived. They immediately launched into conversation telling each other all about their weeks.

"So, I have to tell you guys something." Sienna said right after the waitress delivered their second pitcher of mimosas. Remi was refilling their champagne flutes and paused when she realized Sienna hadn't touched hers. Just as she was piecing it together Sienna blurted out, "I'm pregnant!"

"Congratulations!" Remi was the first to shake the shock off as Yvette not so subtly asked "Who's the father?"

"Well, that's the thing. I've been hooking up with this guy on and off on the side for a while." They both knew Sienna had been on dates here and there, but Remi didn't think she was involved in anything serious.

"Okay," Remi drawled out waiting on Sienna to continue. Her mind was racing at possibilities. There were a couple guys Sienna had dated in college that she thought might be the father.

"Why didn't you tell us a couple weeks ago?" Yvette wasn't shy about asking for the tea, so she kept throwing questions out.

"I didn't know when we were at the house. I was feeling nauseous and tired but I thought it was because I was getting ready to start my period. It kept getting worse and my period never came, so I took a test. I just found out yesterday and I'm freaking out. I had to tell someone! The guys do not know and you can't tell them." Sienna looked at her two best friends with pleading eyes.

"Why?" Yvette promoted her.

"Give her a minute." Remi was quick to reprimand Yvette and smiled kindly at Sienna. She knew she would continue when she was ready.
