After brunch the girls went their separate ways promising to meet again in two weeks. Yvette had an appointment to see an apartment in the city since she was currently staying with Travis and Sienna was so tired from all the excitement that she needed a nap. Remi was still trying to wrap her head around everything she had just learned. Sienna was going to be a mom and Yvette was hooking up with Travis. In a matter of one brunch everything seemed to changed. If she wasn't worried about getting left behind before, she definitely was now.

Sienna was bringing a beautiful life into this world with their best friend's brother. None of the girls could quite predict how Mitchell would react, but they did speculated how Sam would respond to the news. The scenarios ranged from overjoyed friend to livid uncle. Remi urged Sienna to tell him sooner rather than later though. The longer she kept it from the Greene men, the worse it was going to be. After all, they promised never to keep anything big from each other. Once they exhausted every idea on how to tell Mitch the news the conversation drifted back to Yvette and Travis.

Remi couldn't believe she had been so oblivious to the sexual tension between them all week. Yvette explained how they had gotten into an argument in the pool house, which resulted in her pressed against the wall and Travis's mouth hovering inches from hers. Zander had stopped anything from happening when he walked in to get floats or something. He didn't see them hidden around the corner, but the moment was effectively ruined she explained. They had almost kissed again later in the week when they were the only two in the kitchen making breakfast, which was interrupted by Sienna. When they went out with Sienna and Mitchell on the sunset cruise they'd both been drinking and throwing out sexual advances. Yvette made an excuse to go back to the house and Travis took the bait. One steamy make out session led to them hooking up in one of the abandoned rooms upstairs until late into the evening, which explained why Remi ran into Travis that night.

Remi didn't love the idea of her two friends hooking up because she worried about what would happen if one hurt the other. They were both very free spirited, but cared deeply when they allowed themselves. She just kept imagining different scenarios that would tear the group apart. If Travis let his playboy tendencies rule or if Yvette decided she didn't want to be tied down or maybe they split amicably but then their future spouses didn't want them to be friends. Remi knew she was getting too far ahead of herself. Ultimately, she would support whatever decision they made. She wanted them both to be happy and if that meant doing whatever they were doing, Remi would get behind them.

The Uber was about to pull in her driveway when Gail's name flashed across the screen of Remi's phone. She'd messaged back and forth with her soon-to-be boss a little since graduation, but hadn't heard much from her in the last week.

"Hey Gail!" Remi said cheerfully. She was secretly hoping Gail was calling to tell her something came up and she needed Remi to start sooner than planned.

"Hey Remi, how are you doing?" Gail's voice lacked the usual brightness she talked with.

"I'm good, I'd be even better if you're calling to tell me you need me to start early." Remi was only half joking.

"About that. Something came up," Gail started and Remi anxiously waited for her to continue. She could be ready to fly out as early as Monday, but would need a little time to make arrangements with Warren to watch Whiskey.

"Look, something came up in the discovery so the merger isn't happening now."

"Oh Gail, I'm so sorry. Is there anything I can do?" Remi knew how important this merger was to Gail.

"No Remi, that's what I'm trying to say. I'm so sorry, but we're not going to be able to hire you." Gail corrected and it still took a moment for Remi to understand what was going on. "I feel so bad having to do this, but I have to make a couple more calls. If you need a reference please let me know. I'll talk to you later."
