tuesday's pov
"So this is the bathroom." Lila stated as she gestured to the dark cupboard she called a bathroom.
"Oh." That's all I said. That's all I have said this entire "tour". My room looked like it had been burnt to the ground, then rebuilt, and then burnt to the ground all over again.
The so called "kitchen" had a small rusty stove and a small table next to it. The table rocked back and forth, the hinges on the feet were obviously not screed in all the way.
Next to the kitchen is a small brown couch that I'm pretty certain is infested with mold and possibly a family of termites.
As we stepped over the uprooted floorboards to get back to the front of the house, Lila puts her hand on my shoulder. A strange sensation comes over me, the same one I felt when I entered this damn town.
"So, how do you like it?" she asked with a huge smile that I could spot from a mile away. What does she think? This house is unliveable. It's terrible.
"Do you want me to be honest?" Lila nodded her head slowly, like she could almost tell what my answer was. Like it wasn't obvious already.
"I hate it. How in the world did anyone live here, ever?" I spluttered out enraged. Her face stayed blank, plain. I guess she was used to this, she is a relator after all. Just not mine, or this houses'. I actually have no idea who's supposed to be showing me around. I guess I'll never find out. Lila works for now.
"I know Maeve, it's not the best but with a little work I'm sure it'll be great!" Lila tried to be enthusiastic as we hauled in my suitcase together.
"It said on the website it was move-in ready. That's obviously not the case." I said crossing my arms over my chest in annoyance.
"Website? Wow, we don't use technology here. Well, not like phones and the internet. Obviously we have power and water." she told me as she tried to keep that blank look on her face. It didn't work. Instead her mouth twisted and the wrinkles on her forehead became more defined. She was defiantly confused. And for the most part I was as well.
"Well, there was a website. And that's what it said. But whatever, thanks for the help." I told her. Right now, I just want a little time to myself. Hopefully then I'll be less stressed and I can try to make this place at least semi-homey.
"Oh okay then. I'll see you around Maeve." Lila said with a smile. And with that she walked out of this horrible house and back into the road. Where the cars are supposed to be, but aren't.
I sit down on the couch but a bug scurries out from under it. I immediately jumped up in disgust and I raised my legs off of the ground below me. I can't do this. I can't sit here, there's nothing to do, plus there's bugs everywhere. So I decided to go outside, to walk around my new city that I now call home.
I jumped as fast as I could and walked over to the door. I then looked under the mat, where more bugs came crawling out, but I found a key. I then locked the door with the key, I don't want anything else to mysteriously "disappear" like my car. Which I will find by the way.
So now I walked. I went down the streets left, and then right, and then left again. The sun was starting to set and I had no idea that it was so late.
Just as I was about to turn back when I saw a little small building lit up with lights. I could hear music blasting, good music, from it. So naturally, I'm curious.
I walked closer to the building and I could see that it was covered with vines. And I mean covered. I could barley see where the door to get in was. But after a little bit of looking around, I managed to find the wooden door to enter inside.
