Chapter IV: If Only I Had Known

At Beastmen Co-op Shirou enters his office. He sits at his desk and looks at the picture of the Beast-Force.

Flashback. During the Magical War The Beast-Force are helping the magic side instead of the technology side. "Looks like hell." Kitsune stated. Chariot laughed. "Yeah it kinda is." She told him. Out of nowhere Kitsune and Scales got attacked. "Kitsune!" Wolf-Stride yelled. Kitsune got cut on his chest going from his top right and going to his bottom right. Kitsune got his rifle and hit the Beastman in the head with the stock of the rifle. Scales got stabbed in his left eye. "Are you okay Nolan?" Chariot asked. Bounty helped him up. "Yeah I'm okay, I got some black thread in Swipes, so I can fix it." Kitsune told her. 

Wolf-Stride went to Scales. "How about you Scales you got stabbed in your eye?" He asked. Scales groaned. "I'll be fine, just need some bandages." He told him.

End of Flashback. Shirou enters into his room and took off his suit. He looks at a picture of him and Michiru on there wedding day. Michiru enters the room. "Shirou are you okay?" She asked. He sighs. "The interview didn't go well." He told her. "I saw do you want to talk about it?" Michiru asked. "I guess." He said. She sat down on the bed next to him.

Flashback. At the base Kitsune turns on the radio and plays Suspicious Minds by Elvis Presley. "We're caught in a trap, I can't walk out, Because I love you too much, baby." Kitsune sings. He takes off his goggles, unclips the straps on his back armor and removes it, he takes off his coat and shirt, he puts on a Metallica shirt got out a needle and thread and started to sew his shirt. "Nolan why don't you get a new shirt?" Wolf-Stride asked. He morphed back into human form. "I rather not."  Kitsune stated.  Kitsune looks around and sees that no one is here just him and Shirou. He took off his hood. "I'm kinda glad we get our own tent, I can be maskless and I won't get recognized." Nolan stated. "Yeah that's true." Shirou told him. "Hey Shirou you can leave if you want, just tell the team not to enter unless I say so?" Nolan said to Shirou. "Sure." Shirou told him.

Shirou stepped out and can see that Ursula and Bounty are talking. "Well I wish my father wasn't so rough with me or my sister." Bounty stated. Ursula sees Shirou. "Hey you seen down." Ursula said. Shirou sighs. "Well I miss Michiru, the first I do when we get back is I'm telling her how much I missed her and how much I love her." Shirou told her. "And let's not forget you get to meet your son."  Ursula added.  Shirou smiled.  Kitsune stepped out of the tent and went to his car and put the rocket launcher in the trunk. "Nolan why are you putting the rocket launcher away?" Witch-Hunter asked. "Because I don't feel like using it." Kitsune told him.

They see Scales with bandages on his left eye. "Poor Scales, you got it worse." Kitsune stated. "I'll be fine, I'll just get a fake eye." Scales told him.

End of Flashback. "Well I guess it really doesn't matter what they say, I still love you and will forever." Michiru told him. He smiled. "I love you too Michiru." Shirou told her.

Flashback. Shirou leaves the bar sees Charoit and Kitsune by Kitsune's car, he goes to them. "Where is Boris?" Shirou asked. "He left, ready for retirement." Charoit told him. She took off her hat and mask, she puts them both in Kitsune's trunk. "Where is Paul?" Kitsune asked while taking off his goggles. "He got pissed and left, and I'm guessing Bounty left already right?" Shirou asked. "Yeah he went home, it just us three." Ursula told him. Kitsune got an idea. "Let's celebrate this is a win, so let's shotgun." Kitsune stated. He pulled out three cans of Fire Bull and get them ready. "All you have to do is crack the lid, point the tab up and suck as hard as you can." Kitsune told them. And the shotgun the Fire Bull. Ursula started to cough. "Easy, you did it a little too hard." Kitsune told her. "And that was my first Fire Bull, it's really rough." She told him. Kitsune sighs. "Nolan do you think you can give us a ride home?"  Shirou asked.  "My car can only hold two people, not unless someone wants to sit on the other people's lap."  Kitsune told him.  "I don't mind, sitting on your lap."  Ursula told him.  "Alright then."  Kitsune said. 

They got in his car and Kitsune took off his hood, they leave and head home, on the radio is Separate Ways By Journey while Ursula is relaxing on Nolan's lap and Shirou is in the passenger seat next to Nolan. Here we stand, Worlds apart, hearts broken in two, two, two, Shirou sees them enter Magica-Anima City. Sleepless nights, Losing ground, I'm reaching for you, you, you, Shirou hears Nolan singing to the song. "Feeling that it's gone, Can't change your mind, If we can't go on, To survive the tide, love divides." Nolan sings. Ursula sighs and smiled, she likes Nolan singing. "Someday, love will find you, Break those chains that bind you, One night will remind you, How we touched and went our separate ways, If he ever hurts you, True love won't desert you, You know I still love you, Though we touched and went our separate ways." He sings. "So Beastmen Co-op is where you guys live right?" Nolan asked. "Yeah, and you can stay the night, tomorrow three members need to show up and I don't think Boris, Paul, and Bounty are going." Shirou told him. "Okay that's fine." Nolan told him.

End of Flashback. "Maybe if it was just me Nolan, Ursula, and Bounty the Beast-Force would've been better, but I'm glad that Boris and Paul got to be apart of it." Shirou told Michiru. She smiled. "Of course, after all, Nolan gave me the idea to prepose one the day you two had patrol." Michiru told him. He started to laugh. "Of course he did." Shirou stated. She kissed his check. He looks at her and kissed her.

Author's Note: Hey Editor Chance here, and like the comic book chapter this chapter is based on I had this chapter be more on the flashback side, this explains what happened during the Magical War, which something they should've done in Watchmen but whatever.  I feel like the chapter tells how the war can change someone, showing that Shirou does care instead of what people believe. Oh and I think I should note I'm not a car guy, I know nothing about a Lamborghini Countach so I had to do a fuck ton of research and watching videos on it so let's hope I get my facts right, please correct me in comments if you know more then I do. And yes I should say that while I'm aware the story takes place in 2038 which makes it the future, the story the Beast-Force is based on is set in 1985 so while yes some flying cars would be cool it just doesn't work for the story and if I was to do a sequel for the story I think I will go the route of The Watchmen TV show where technology has not advanced, and yes in this universe with the Magical War happening there was no time for flying cars, hope that's understandable. Oh I did change the title but it's from the same quote like the original title it came from.
