The Experiment [Aizawa x F!Reader]

Todoroki and Deku were the ones waiting this time. Aizawa has been coming to the hospital every day. Y/N still hasn't woken up. She's hooked up to so many machines she almost looks like an android on the charger. Every now and then, she will come through. But she doesn't move. It's like a projection. A shadow. But it's never the Y/N Deku knows. It's the younger one. The one Shota saw fall off the roof top.

"Shota? Where is he?" A females voice called out. Deku slowly got up from the chair in the corner of her room and walked over to her bedside.

"Where are you, Y/N? We can only hear you." He said and from the shadows of the bed stepped a young girl. She looked like a early high school student.

"What do you mean Deku," she smiled and giggled, "I'm right here silly. Where's Shota? Did he fall asleep in class again?"

There she goes again. Every other day, for 5 months, Deku stays by her side and answers the same questions. Over and over again. The doctors say that she will eventually wake up. They're just unsure when. She has to recover her own soul and mind. The things that were damaged the most. She's traumatized without even knowing it. Deku balls up his fists but smiles at her.

"He will be here tomorrow, Y/N. He's a teacher now, remember?" Deku has to keep smiling for her, even though he wants to cry. He wants to hug her and tell her it's ok. But she would just be confused.

"A teacher?" She asked him as she looked at herself and sighed, "a teacher? How long has it been than? Since I've last seen him?" Y/N thinks that she is still the same girl that fell from the roof. She thinks that she's quirkless still and this was after that incident.

Deku grabs her hands and gently squeezes them, "He's always thinking of you. He came by yesterday to see you," He had to be careful about what he said since she was repressing so much from herself right now, "He just has something to do today."

It's been 5 months since Dark Queens reign. The plan was to capture the villains. But Shigaraki and Kurogiri were the only two to get away from them. They haven't seen them since but know they plan on getting Y/N back. Deku also remembers when she was brought into the ER. No one wanted to treat the Dark Queen but one stepped forward. Said he owed Mr. Aizawa a favor. So he's been the doctor that's been watching over her.

Flashback

"Mr Aizawa?! We came as fast as we could!" Todoroki said as Deku caught up from behind.

"Where's Bakugou?" Aizawa asked, "He's not with you?"

"No, he stayed behind to help anyone that was around when we dealt with Dark Queen. He's also going to lead a group of heroes to the hideout that Y/N and the LoV were residing in." Deku said.

"You've all grown so much, I know Y/N is proud of you guys." Aizawa said as he finally slumped down into a chair, "I haven't gotten anything from the doctor other then she might not make it..." He covers his face with his hands and shakes a little, "I should've been there. If I walked her home when we were kids? She never would've gotten into this mess. None of you would've had to rush your training and we wouldn't be in this predicament."

"Is that true though? We heard you guys talking when you saved her at the school. If she was being watched as a child? Then they would've grabbed her later rather then on the roof." Todoroki said after he crouched in front of his teacher. Trying to help calm him down. "Imagine that? She might've become unstable and we may not have been able to save her."

"That's right, it was actually better for her to be taken at a younger age. If they would've waited then she would be under the impression that the League was the good guys and we wouldn't have been able to change her mind." Deku smiled, "Sooner is always better then later. Even in the darkest of times."

Present

"Deku...." Y/N called out and he widened his eyes,

"Y-Yes?" He said as he smiled again, "What is it, Y/N?"

"What happened?" She asks, "To me? Why won't I wake up?" She asked as she walked to the side of her bed. Her shadow self trying to touch her physical body and just going through, "Why won't anyone help me?"

Deku didn't know what to do, he didn't know what to say. He's never been asked this question before but she makes it sound like she's asked it before.

"What do you mean Y/N?" He walks back over to her, she was so small. How could someone take a child and do what they did to her? She must've been a good kid since she's good now.

"I just want to wake up. I can tell that I'm not really how I am. This projection I've made of myself? I can see that it's not me. So why?" Y/N turned to Deku with tears rolling down her face, "Why am I like this and why won't he tell me the truth!" She yelled out and Deku felt the room get darker.

"Y/N you need to calm down. You're letting your quirk get the best of you."

"I don't have a quirk!" She yelled out and he watched as the shadows branched onto the walls, "Why are you lying?! Get out!" She yelled some more and Deku went to say something but was knocked out of the room by an unseen force.

"Deku!" Todoroki yelled out. He was coming down the hall with some drinks in his arms but dropped them at the sight of his friend being thrown out, "Are you ok?!"

"Don't worry about me! We need to calm Y/N down!" Deku cried out.

"What's going on here?"

The boys looked over and they let out a sigh if relief.

"Y/N needs you right now," Deku gets helped up, "Mr Aizawa."
