A little party never killed nobody

The rest of the week was kinda of a blur. I went to school, did homework, and slept a lot. School is so exhausting. At least I have Cordelia. The only times I smile are when I'm talking to her or when Jax does something funny or sweet. I also haven't cut myself. I've thought about it a lot, but I didn't do it. I'm kinda proud of myself for it. I feel a little bit of achievement.

Today is Friday. Which means the party's today. Yay... If i'm being honest, I'm very nervous.

*PING*

I look at my phone and see that someone text me.

𝙷𝚒! 𝙸'𝚖 Mateo! I'm in your math class :) Cordelia gave me your number and I wanted to text you so you could save my number. I'll be at the party tonight so we can hang out if you want to! See you there :)

I text back:

𝙷𝚒 𝙼𝚊𝚝𝚎𝚘! 𝚃𝚑𝚊𝚗𝚔𝚜 𝚏𝚘𝚛 𝚝𝚎𝚡𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚖𝚎, 𝙸'𝚕𝚕 𝚖𝚊𝚔𝚎 𝚜𝚞𝚛𝚎 𝚝𝚘 𝚜𝚊𝚟𝚎 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚗𝚞𝚖𝚋𝚎𝚛. 𝚂𝚎𝚎 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚊𝚝 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚝𝚢!

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad people are finally talking to me. It's just feels a little strange. I haven't talked to people my age I'm so long. It all feels so weird.

I save Mateo's number to my phone and then start getting ready for the party. I put on casual clothes, which was basically just a oversized t-shirt and biker shorts, so that I don't stand out, and then pack a small bag with my phone, phone charger, lipgloss, and money. After that I pull my hair into a messy bun and put on a light jacket since it was kinda chilly outside.

I look out my window and notice that Cordelia that out there. I walk to the living room where my parent were.

"Where are you going?" Reyna asked.

"A party. If that's ok." I responded.

"Who's party? And who is driving you?" Arthur asked.

"It's someone from schools party. Not many people
will be there, and Cordelia is driving me." I told him.

"Alright that's fine! Have fun!" He said.

"What! No! Your not going!" Reyna said.

"Mom please!" I begged.

"Let her go Reyna. She needs this. She hasn't been someone with someone her age in a while." He told her.

"Fine. But be home by 11:00." She finally gave in.

"Thanks mom." I hugged her and my dad.

I walked outside and Cordelia was standing in front of her car waiting for me.

"Took you long enough." She said, laughing.

"I had to convince my mom to let me go." I explained.

She opened the door for me and I got in, her closing the door behind me. She walked around to the drivers side and got in. We drove off and started to the party.

"My friend Mateo is going to be there. I told him to text you. He seems like someone you would get along with." Cordelia said.

"Yeah, he text me earlier. He told me if I wanted to then I could hang out with him. And he told me to save his phone number." I responded.

She then turned on the radio and started playing music on her phone. She played the song "Still Don't Know My Name" by Labrinth. She sang along with the song. Her short, curly hair blowing in the wind since her window was down a little. After a few minutes of listening to music and driving we finally arrived. When I got out the car I was hit with the sound of loud music and the site of teenagers, some were dancing, others were kissing or talking. I was totally out of my comfort zone.

I followed behind Cordelia. The music got louder the closer we walked to the house. When we walked inside we were barely able to get in. There were so many people. It was hard to keep up with Cordelia.

"Mateo said he would be in the kitchen with his boyfriend. Let's go find them." She screamed over the music.

I just nodded at her.

We walked to the kitchen and right away I recognized a few people. A boy from my history class was there. I think his name was Conan Lee. I also recognized Mateo. He smiled wide when he saw us. Well, he was probably smiling at Cordelia, not me. I stayed close to Cordelia. Not to close though. I didn't want her to feel uncomfortable.

"Hello Ladies! You both look lovely." Mateo greeted us.

"Thank you Mateo. You look lovely as well!" Cordelia responded.

I turn around for a second and accidentally run into someone. That wasn't the bad part though. Their punch spilled all over them... and me. Great. Just great.
