The breeze was particularly charming that morning, and the vibe around was lively as families parted with their children, and wives and little kids sent their husbands and fathers off with luck.
(Y/n) stood there alone, waiting for her chance to board the large, wooden ship that stood in front of all of them. She was here for one reason and one reason only, to take the hunter's exam and pass it, no distractions.
Just as the last hugs and farewells were being exchanged, the doors of the ship opened up, allowing people to start making their way inside.
She took this time to carefully observe everyone that entered the ship because she knew that some of them could be future competition but out of so many there was one in particular who caught her attention the most, a little boy, the oldest at least 14, with green hair and a green jumpsuit. Compared to the horde of tired, miserable men around her, this kid was a ball of energy, and his vibe brought an automatic feeling of joy wherever he went, It was, in a way, refreshing
Soon, everyone who needed to had boarded the boat. (Y/n) got herself comfortable knowing the long trip that was ahead but she refused to fall asleep anything could happen while she slept and with these men pushing each other around like children, she wasn't risking anything. Instead, she decided to sit down at a safe distance from the edge where she let the sounds of the waves crashing against the boat and the fresh smell of the salty ocean take her in.
" There's a storm coming."
(Y/n) shifted her attention to the same green-haired boy from earlier as he said this
"Huh?" responded an old man beside him who she could only assume was the ship's captain "How exactly do you know that?"
"Sea Cranes! That's what all of them are saying!" The little boy replied
she then watched as he climbed his way to the top of the ship and said, "There's a big one heading right for us! I can tell by the way it smells!!"
With this everyone outside started to make their way inside and soon later (Y/n) followed suit, not wanting to be left outside as the clear blue skies around them quickly began to turn into heavy grey ones.

The last hour was bumpy...but (Y/n) spent most of it too busy in her thoughts to focus on her surroundings. Now that she was, almost every person around her was either disheveled or hanging on to dear life.
With a ship full of men who prided themselves on their "Toughness", which was made very clear by the looks they gave her when she, the only female on that ship, walked in, she wasn't very surprised to see them knocked down by the storm because she knew their facade would crumple at even the slightest force however, this was the case for everyone except, that one green-haired boy who was currently helping a nauseous man on the ground.
(Y/n)'s train of thought was quickly cut short, However when she noticed the captain looking at them through the door...
"Alright, you four, come with me."
