The ride up in the sky with the Kirkos wasn't as long as the group expected, but when they reached the ground, the morning had already hit.
They had finally made it to Zuban city.
"Our job as navigators is to seek out worthy applicants for the hunters exam and lead them there because you see, without one, the site is nearly impossible to find." explained the Kirkos' son. He had been the one chosen to guide the group through the city and to the exams, explaining his role in the exams to the four.
(Y/n) observed the city around them as they walked through it, no doubt a tourist attraction due to its lively atmosphere with shops and attractions, but the city also had its fair share of shadiness on every corner they passed.
After a while of walking, the group soon made it to the front of a tall building, almost skyscraper-like. The building had to be important as it was well-kept.
"Alright, here we are! I'm pretty sure this is the place." the son said, pointing forward to the establishment of buildings in front.
"Woah! Look at this place! It's huge!" An excited Gon cheered as the group of four got closer to the building.
The building was nice. It seemed very formal yet to (Y/n) it felt a little too formal for it to be something that needed as many trials as it took them to get there. This felt too simple.
nonetheless, excitement coursed through (Y/n) as she looked up at the building. Her gaze brightened as she mentally prepared herself, knowing that this was only just the beginning but still ready to see what came next, especially after what they'd all faced so far.
"So this is the hunter's exam site." Leorio started observing the building, "And this is the crowd it draws." Leorio contained, insinuating at the group.
"Hey, guys!"
Everyone's attention was suddenly pulled to the son who was waving at them.
"Over here!" The son said, pointing at a smaller and less well-kept building beside the bigger one."This is it."
"Come on, you're messing with us!" Leorio said, reading everyone's mind as he walked towards the building, "That's just a regular restaurant!"
The building that was the apparent examination site was indeed just a small, regular restaurant by the name of Gohan, definitely not what they had in mind for the grand Hunters Exam which was known to be one of the most difficult exams a person could take.
"Wait, so you're telling me that this is where the hunters from all over the glove come to take the exam?"
The group was starting to get a little skeptical of the situation in front of them. This exam had gone from weird and strange to now outright bizarre.
"That's right!" The son confidently responded! "You see, the Hunters Exam attracts millions of applicants each year, and no one would expect the exam to be held here, right?"
"You have a point." A defeated Leorio finally replied
The four took a few more seconds to take all of it in before following the son inside. The smell of warm food hit the group as they stepped inside. The restaurant seemed like your normal run-of-the-mill restaurant, with people sitting around eating and chatting with each other, nothing out of place.
"Welcome! Take a seat!" One of the cooks announced as the group's presence was made known.
"Actually, is the back room available?" the son asked. This, in turn, caused the cook to stop stirring what he was making and slighting face the group, suspicion light painted across his face, "What are you having?"
