The walk down the path was quiet for the most part, each person lost in their own world of thought. It felt longer than 2 hours but nonetheless, they had finally made it to the end and into a forest-like landscape.
The sky had darkened by the time they got out so the only noise around was that of the forest animals around, yet even their noises seemed faded as if muted by an unseen force. The world around them seemed like a normal run-of-the-mill forest but something about it was off. The air had an undescribable tension around it as if there was something around, hiding. Something was keeping a close eye on them.
The group kept walking another few miles before they reached the tree and under it was a sign.
"Beware of Magical Beasts." Leorio read out loud, "What is that supposed to mean?"
(Y/n) felt that this forest wasn't exactly normal but this had just confirmed it.
The group kept walking forward, all except for Leorio who stayed a few steps behind rambling about hunger and whatnot.
"Wait, Guys! I think I see it!"
Their attention was abruptly turned to the small cabin being pointed at by the blonde next to them. The cabin was located a little further down the path but it was still very close to their current standing.
Leorio caught up to the rest of the group and they made it to the end of the path where a decent-sized wooden cabin was sitting in front of them.
For some reason (Y/n) had ended up in front of the group so if anything were to fly at them, safe to say she would be target number one.
"Hey! Anybody home?" Leorio said as he knocked on the wooden door facing them.
(Y/n) could sense something was off. This didn't feel like a normal cabin and the forest didn't feel like a normal forest. Additionally, everything they had faced so far was either trying to trick them or disable them from continuing to the exam in some sort of way.
"This place doesn't feel right, we should try treading with a little more caution." (Y/n) said, earning a nod in agreement from the other three
(Y/n) had a creeping feeling that this wouldn't be any different.
"Guess no one's home," Leorio concluded after not receiving an answer
With this Leorio decided to open the door.
The four only made it a few steps in before quickly jumping back from the sight in front of them.
the cabin was trashed from every corner and in the middle of it all,
No other than the so-called magical beast.
turned and glaring right at them...

The group took a few steps back from the creature thinking about what their next move would be. (Y/n) had read about these creatures in a book once, they were called Kirko, magical creatures that could shapeshift.
Just then they heard painful whines coming from beneath the beast.
"He's got someone!" Leorio pointed out to the pinked-haired woman underneath, clearly struggling.
The beast grabbed the woman and moved further back revealing another injured person right next to it, this time a man.
This must be the couple (Y/n) thought but before anyone could properly ration the situation in front of them the creature, along it the woman still tightly latched to it, flew out the window.
