George's POV

6 months later...

I was walking to Clay's house, holding a bouquet of flowers. Today was our six months anniversary and I was surprising him. We were really happy together and we loved each other a lot.

I ran to his house and rang the bell. It took a bit, but Clay opened the door holding one of his crutches. He wasn't fully recovered yet, he often walked with crutches and when he went away for a long while, he needed a wheelchair. Though he could walk without them, it depended on the day.

He went to the rehabilitation centre three times a week. His ankle was really unstable and his movement was poor, luckily it went way better than before. Clay laid his crutch down and gave me a hug, slowly walking back to the couch.

'Happy six months,' he smiled. 'I have a present.'

'Me too, as you can see,' I giggled. I showed him the bouquet I was holding.

Clay smiled and kissed my cheek as he grabbed the flowers, putting them in the first glass with water he saw. He walked back to the couch to rest for a bit and opened his arms for a hug.

'I bought you this,' Clay smiled as he held up another bracelet. 'I'm not taking this one off, but now we both have another one. This time with the promise to stay boyfriends forever. Look, it has a heart and the date we got together.'

I blushed and Clay tied it around my wrist, kissing my bracelet to make the promise even more real.

'Do you want to go outside, Georgie?'

I nodded and Clay stood up. 'Do you need your crutches?'

Clay shook his head. 'I'm fine.'

I smiled and Clay walked to the door slowly, he opened the door and grabbed his football. 'Look, we can try and play a bit.'

'Are you allowed to?'

Clay nodded. 'I can't run or jump, but if we just kick it carefully, it should be fine.'

I nodded and Clay grabbed my hand as he walked outside to a small grass field. Clay kicked the ball as carefully as possible and it still made me a bit sad to see him now. He once was the best player of the team, but now he could barely walk anymore.

I knew Clay was relieved to be gone there, but I also knew he had cried about it a lot. He wished to play football on a lower level, but his ankle was so weak that he couldn't.

I softly kicked the ball back and Clay started smiling. I knew he loved to just play for a bit and he kicked the ball back again. We kept softly kicking the ball to each other for ten minutes, but Clay sat down. 'I have pain, I should stop.'

I nodded. 'I'm proud that you dare to tell me when it's too much.'

Clay smiled and we laid down in the grass, cuddling up with each other. Clay started playing a bit with my bracelets and he rolled to his side, kissing my forehead. He hung his head above my lips and smiled. 'I don't think someone will come here, can we kiss?'

I nodded shyly and Clay pressed his lips on mine. We started kissing more passionately each second and we broke the kiss in the end to catch some breath. Clay smiled at me and cuddled up with me again as he ran his hand through my hair.

'I love you,' he muttered. 'I know I've treated you so poorly the last few years. I wish I wouldn't have done that and I still regret it. I should have given you more attention and I should have at least tried to. You were in love with me and I knew, I just ignored you. I'm sorry.'

I kissed his cheek. 'It's totally fine, I understand it. You got forced to play football and it's pretty normal to want to rest on Sunday. I'm glad we are together now and there's no need to feel bad about anything. It's all about the current time, not about what happened.'

Clay smiled shyly and nodded. 'I guess you're right.'

'I love you too, Clay.'

Clay and I ended up kissing again and Clay deepened the kiss again. We kissed for a while and after we broke apart, we just hugged in silence. Clay stood up after twenty minutes and kicked the ball to me. 'Do you want to play? You don't have to.'

'Of course, I love to see you happy.'

Clay smiled and we started carefully playing for a little bit again. Clay had too much pain after a while and we started walking to his house again, just to cuddle on the couch. Clay ran his hand through my hair as I rested my head on his chest to listen to his heartbeat. It always calmed me down for some reason, I could lay like this for hours.

Clay was really happy now he only lived with his mum. His mum was really sweet to him, she helped him all day when he needed something, she didn't put any pressure on him. It helped Clay and he did everything she told him to.

He often wanted to argue against his dad, but he listened to his mum. They had a strong bond together and he was really happy that he didn't have to be scared anymore. Both our mum's fully supported our relationship and the fact we were gay.

We could just sleep at each other's place whenever we wanted to, we could cuddle and we would be able to kiss too, but we didn't do that in front of anyone else.

Clay heard that Brian had been kicked out of the football team and the videos of us got deleted online. Most people had already seen it so it didn't matter that much, but it was still chill.

Clay looked up at me again and showed his bracelet, kissing me softly after. 'I promise you, George, I'll never forget about our promise.'

'Me neither,' I smiled as I kissed him. 'I love you.'

'I love you too.'
