'I wonder what today will look like.' I said while putting on my mismatched haori. Sanemi had always told me that it was hideous, everyone did. They all hated me. I wonder what I did. Well, except for...Rengoku Kyojuro. He was always so nice to me. He never once trashed talked anyone, but the way he talked to me just made me feel special, it makes me smile.

I brushed my teeth and put up my hair. My ribbon looked like it was on the verge of breaking, but I'll deal with it later. I grabbed my sword and headed out the door. I saw the usual birds, rats, lizards, small snakes, and turtles wondering around my estate. I wanted it to be welcome to all animals so they can never feel what I feel everyday at the hashira meetings, lunch, and missions. They all have someone just meant for them, even the animals. I really want to spend more time with Rengoku. He always puts me in a good mood, his flashy smile and fluffy hair with a small ponytail that no one can even notice in his mess of a thing he calls his hair, but I love it.

There was a hashira meeting today, as soon as the master finished everyone dismissed themselves.

"Giyuu, Kyojuro, come to me." Master Ubuyashiki called to me and Rengoku.

"Yes, Master?" We both said at the same time. I doubt master even heard me because Rengoku's voice had great power over mine. Normally I'd be pissed, but with him, I didn't mind.

"There has been a report of a Upper rank 5 demon targeting couples at a remote, yet big, village. So far 2 couples have gone missing from the demon. I need you two to head over there. It, however, will be a days journey." Master Ubuyashiki said in his usual calm voice.

"Of course Master!" Rengoku boomed bowing.

"Yes, Master." I said.

Rengoku started to head out but I stayed put.

'Man, I love his voice. It's almost like a great lion. So beautiful and grand, and nothing can compare to it. Rengoku reminded everyone of a lion, with his compassionate and protecting personality, he was the perfect person.'

"Giyuu?" Master Ubuyashiki said to me, I hadn't moved from the spot where Master assigned us the mission, I quickly realized it, but I have no way to explain my "distraction."

"Yes, Master?" I said.

"There seems to be something on your mind. It seems distracting...almost like you're in love." He whispered.

"I'm very sorry Master, I will not be distracted by that any longer." I looked back to Rengoku waiting at the gate for us to leave.

"You seem to have taken a liking to Kyojuro."

"What? With all due respect sir-"

He put his hand at his mouth to quiet me. I quickly shut it.

"It's okay, that's why I put you two on this mission together. He seems to be distracted too, he is looking over here, don't look by the way, I want you two to sort this out. You're some of my most hard-working hashira, I believe in you both." He said, "Now go, you can do it, Giyuu."

I smiled.

"Thank you, Master." 'Am I really in love with Rengoku? I mean the Master is never wrong, he has pride in his good intuition. What if we can't sort this out?'

I was way too paranoid for my own good. I ruffled my hair a bit while I walked up to Rengoku.

"Ready?" I aksed.

"Ready!" Rengoku said.

We started walking out into the woods since this town is so hidden there's no actual trail for it.
