"We are all living in cages with the door wide open."
-George Lucas
Your eyes were alight with fire as you shoved your way through the small crowd of praising islanders. Their looks of shock and disbelief at your actions slowly morphing into looks of fear.
You paid them no mind, focused on your sole purpose.
This 'ceremony' that the chief had talked about was nothing more than a sacrifice--not to some god but to you. A sacrifice for you....And the sacrifice was your crew.
Alon had explained the gory details of what was to happen. With your crew dead, your physical form would have no attachments to the Earth and, thus, you'd be able to ascend to full godhood and vow yourself to the chief and this island.
You blood boiled at the mere thought of what the chief had planned.
If he thought you were simply going to stand by and allow him to kill your crew and force you to serve him, he had another thing coming.
"Goddess! Wait!"
Alon trailed behind you, trying desperately to stop your angry marching.
You jerked away as his hand met your shoulder and he blinked in confusion before stepping back.
"You'd be smart to leave me alone, Alon. If you get in my way, I will treat you as an enemy."
He paused, hesitating for a few moments.
"You-Your friends are not in the cage anymore."
Your brows jumped.
"Where are they?"

Jungkook's eyes were widened as he and the rest of the crew were pulled towards a high cliff over the sea. The waves slammed against the island mercilessly, the tide moving back and forth, revealing the sharpened rocks that rested at the base of the cliff.
He and the rest of the men had been bound by the wrists with thick ropes and puled to this location without so much as an explanation but he did not need one. He'd already deduced what exactly was about to transpire.
He'd heard about this island--the island that worships the sea. They believe that the sea is a woman--a goddess and that she has protected them from the outside world...They had no idea of the actual cause of the lack of visitors--Sea monsters and sirens.
The mark on his hand burned as he stumbled forward.
He was beginning to feel your absence within himself and it was weakening him physically as well as mentally.
You were probably feeling the same way--weak and afraid.
But, of course, you'd never show it. No, he assumed you were somewhere stomping and huffing. Angry at him as well as yourself for your current state.
He'd also been without the sea for quite a while...it was draining him. He feared that he would not be able to keep his identity a secret for much longer.
"Why are we here?"
Jungkook's eyes snapped over as the blue-haired man leaned towards him, whispering his question.
"You know, don't you? You know what they're planning."
The siren looked away from him and back towards the sea.
"Why would I know that? I am in the same predicament as you."
Jimin's eyes narrowed on the younger-looking man.
