Chapter One: A Fine Line
'Tears' began to gather in her optics, tears for the hurt in her spark, tears for the bleeding gash in her shoulder, and the mech's voice pleading to leave before it was too late.
"Deszetra you need to go now." He whispered, as the sound of cannons being fired on the other side of the door be coming louder.
"No!" Her voice cracked with sobs, her spark pounding in her spark chamber, pretty much shouting over the firing.
A slam hit the door, and it dented-- near open.
His servo came to her cheek, gently resting against it, in attempt to calm her. "Dezzy... go."
A tear ran down her cheek, but she silently turned, and ran for the tunnel, scraping her knee joint against the rough flooring as she crawled into the passageway, closing the hidden entrance after sending Orion a last look of grief. Inside, the door busted open, and Decepticons poured in, but Deszetra couldn't turn back... Orion would want her to keep going. He would want her to protect the sparkling that hadn't been birthed yet.
Wiping away tears, Deszetra activated the escape pod, and launched off into space-- away from her planet, away from Orion.
~~~~~~~~~~~Three Earth Weeks Later
Leaning against the steering wheel of the escape pod, Dezzy kept her optics squeezed shut as she wept for the loss, maybe loss, he could still be alive, of Orion. Her faceplate was wet with tears as she took a servo off of the wheel and rested it on her stomach, where she could have the comfort of the sparkling kicking. I'm with sparkling and Orion's not here. She told herself, opening her optics to let more tears run down her cheeks.
The sparkling kicked again, making her slightly smile.
"Soon Sweetspark. We'll find somewhere to find shelter, and maybe someone to help." Her voice soothing, she whispered, venting and focusing on steering the ship with one servo. Hopefully. She added silently.
It was maybe an Earth hour later when the ship's navigator detected an energy signal, another ship maybe a few miles from Deszetra's. Biting her bottom lip, she clicked a few buttons, in hope that maybe it was an Autobot ship, but it remained unknown what side the passengers were on. If they're Autobots, maybe they can help... Dezzy silently told herself. But if they're Decepticons, they'll kill me... and the sparkling...
She had to take the chance. She had to find someone to help...
"Alright... Let's activate the com link..." Deszetra clicked a few buttons and sucked a deep breath before calling the ship. "Hello? Is anyone there? This is Deszetra-- can anyone hear me?"
Silence.
"Loud and clear."
Supressing a gasp of relief, the femme spoke again.
"Who is this?"
"Decepticon warship The Nemesis. Autobot or Decepticon?"
Her spark sunk. Uh oh... Now she had called them, they have a lock on her signal. No way out now... except.... A single tear slipped from her right optic before she clicked the button and replying: "D-Decepticon." Lying was her best hope for surviving now... She can say she had been a prisoner of the Autobots, which is why she bears the Autobot symbol, and she had only recently become with sparkling, so they won't be able to tell right away...
