Pain. Hunger. Thirst.

Simple emotions filled me as I came too. It never once crossed my mind to ponder why I was still alive, but after reviewing I have come to the conclusion Master saved me. I painfully pried my eyes open, willing myself to see where I was. It was sort of dark, with a musty tinge in the air. I tried to pull my feet under me, but with a surprised grunt I crumpled back to the ground. I was so sore, and it hurt to move much. Aside from the pain, all my limbs seemed okay.

I hung out in the dark room until a door creaked open. A large woman bustled in, her form thick, with few curves. I tried to growl warningly but it was weak, and she sneered.  She came closer and I was helpless to defend myself, I couldn't even stand. She reached for my stomach, and I then noticed the bloodstained bandages. They covered most of my body, and she was peeling be of them off now, the one on my stomach. I winced as it came off, revealing long gashes I couldn't even feel. I flopped my head down, deciding she was here to help. The door creaked again and my heart lightened as I saw Master peak his head in. He was the one who saved me. I know it.

He grimaced as he looked over me. "How is she Linda?" He said huskily.

"Bad. She won't be able to fight for months."

Master shook his head. He opened his mouth to say something but closed it. "What do you suggest?" He sighed finally.

Linda cocked her eyebrows. "You won't like it."

"Tell me." He growled.

"My cousin has a farm an hour from here, she knows.....our business, has previously dealt with it. If you want this little devil to live she needs to recover there for a while."

Master put his hand on his head. "She's made me more money than any of my other dogs. What if she softens?"

The large woman laughed and looked straight into my eyes. "I don't think we need to sorry about her softening."

I closed my eyes, tuning out the rest of the conversation. I fell back into a deep sleep.

...

My eyes flew open. I was being carried. I snarled before seeing it was Master, and quieting. He looked at me with an emotion I couldn't name. We were outside, and Linda was standing next to a purring metal beast. I had been in a car before, but they still intimidated me. A few curt words were exchanged, but ended with Master sighing. He laid me in the back, on short stickly carpet. Linda handed him something and into my face was thrust a handful of foul smelling capsules.

"This is a lot, Linda." There was anger and annoyance in his words, and thinking they were directed at me, I gently snapped up the pills. They hit my stomach with a bitter sharpness, and then filled my body with a gentle warmth. I stifled a yawn, but relaxed my body. Last I heard the door slammed down and I drifted away again.

...

"My god Linny! You have her so drugged she can't move!" Cried a shrill voice. An icy hand ran over my side, urging me to growl. "Aw you're awake sweet darling!" She exclaimed as I opened my eyes. She was just about the opposite of Linda. She was like a twig in the middle, with an oversized top and a bottom to match. She wore fake nails and looked generally annoying. A thicker man was talking to Linda in the background.  I heard snippets of their conversation.

"Please Bill, you've done this for me before."

"Linda, we have to stop doing this. This, what you're doing, is illegal."

"Look at her, I don't have another choice!"

They both turned to look at me. I wanted to growl at their stares, but I was still to sleepy. The man, Bill, sighed and walked over to me. His hands had a roughness that made me think of Master. I disliked his mate, but he seemed alright. He gave a small nod, and reached to pick me up. I remember being laid on a very soft bed of something. I had never felt such softness, and it felt like I was sinking. Oh well, I could've cared less. I went back to sleep almost instantly.
