"Lenora hurry up!" He yelled form the drivers seat towards the metal doors of the high school
"I'm coming I'm coming " she darted towards he brother rusted truck
"Jesus what took you so long "
he opened the door for her as she got in
" Arvin don't use his name like that "
she said to him
"what?-shit right sorry "
he breathed out as she got into his truck he started the truck as he was about to drive off
" oh no that's y/n" her words laced with worry "who?" His faced furrowed he had never heard that name before
"she's in my math class real nice girl,Arvin can you drive her?"
She quickly turned to her brother
"please them boys bother her too "
You walked out of the school a little fast as you heard gene and his boys
"Oh for fuck sakes "
you huffed as you heard them make kissing noises behind you
You made it out of the doors to see lenora in her brothers truck you have never met the boy but lenora sure had talked him up
She looked almost scared?
But you didn't worry too much..you walked the opposite way of her and started her way home
"Hey! Where you going " you tensed but kept walking
"Arvin for goodness sakes !" she yelled at her brother " ALL RIGHT !" he shouted back
He opened his door and walked towards the girl "hey!..come here I'll give you a ride "
he said as he got closer
"aw come on Arvin we were just going to have some fun" one of the boys snickered
"you shut your fuckin mouth " he said through gritted teeth at the boys and they laughed "come on" he mumbled and made his way back to the truck and opened the door for you followed behind as the boys continued to laugh
"Happy now " he sighed at lenora

turned around to look at you

lenora then turned to him
"Yeah yeah " he turned out of the school yard
" mind if i smoke " you asked him he looked at you with a confused look on his face he didn't think lenora would hang with girls who don't 𝒑𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒔𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒍𝒐𝒓𝒅 but then nodded,
you rolled down the window and garbed your pack of cigarettes
From your bag and a pack of matches

Finally the match light the orange flame meeting the white stick in between your lips
You inhaled the Grey smoke it burned a little as it filled your lungs
Lenora hummed to the old radio and Arvin looked at you through the mirror
admiring your features on your face, the way your hair moved in front of your face and you hand reaches to brush it back and your eyes focused on the trees and grass outside of his truck
And as you took the cigarette from your lips and held it in your two fingers as you let the smoke leave your lungs

He saw lenora from the corner of his eye looking back at forth between you and him
She smiled and giggled at but at her brother
Looking at her friend
His head snapped back towards the road
He cleared his throat "so where you stay?" He asked once again clearing his throat as she looked at him in the rear view mirror
" four blocks past the church and then turn left go straight till you see a green and White House " you hit the cigarette on the opened window as the ashes got taken by the wind
He nodded and looked back at the road
You saw the quick glances he made in the mirror and smiled to yourself
You made it your house and you opened his truck door and grab your things you stepped up to his driver window to say goodbye to lenora
"Thanks for the ride..." you looked at him he gave a small nod, lenora then unbuckled her seatbelt
" my book still at your house y/n?"
"Yea it is I forgot it on the table this mornin' "
You gave her a smile
"you can go inside and get it or I can go get it for-"
you got cut off as lenora yelled
" No!"
"Sorry no I can get it myself "
she quick got out and shut the door and looked at arvin with a smug smile on her face as she walked to your house
" you don't talk much hm?" You said as you looked at your white dirty sneakers
"Um no not really " he shook his head and look forward
"or do you just not talk to people you don't like?"
His eyes widened
And shook his head
" hmm no it's not that I don't like you..it's just" he sighed
"what?" You said as a smile grew on your face

He let out a light laugh he played with his ands as he looked everywhere but you
Your smile now plastered on your face
"Well I'll be damned" you nodded your head

He smiled at your words and you looked back at your house then back at him
"Okay..how about this you come by the diner on Friday at 7:30 that's when I get off and me and you can go to the fair " you said with confidence almost like he had no choice but to go he smiled and nodded
"Alright..it's a date " he finally looked at you
His eyes were this nice brown shade that at the perfect light you could see the tiniest bit of green in 'em..along with that came a sight of hurt and sadness you saw it before he looked away
"Okay then it's a date" you smiled as you repeated his words and leaned in and kissed him on the cheek he felt the heat rise to his cheeks and a light pink tint made its way on to his face you backed away and turned towards your house
"Now you come visit anytime lenora " you heard your mother yell
" will do mrs.y/m/n bye!" She closed the door with her book in her hand " hey.." she giggled
"You were in there for a long time " you laughed " yeah I wanted you and arv-" get broke her sentence with a big ole smile you knew what she was gunna say " oh shut it "
you nudged her
" alright okay I gotta go bye y/n !" She waved as she walked backwards " Bye Bug!"
You waved at her " bye Arvin" you waved at him too he gave a small wave back and turned out of you drive way
"So you ask her on a date?" She smiled and looked at her brother
" none of ya damn business " he tried to hide his smile but looking the other way and nudged her she let out a fit of laughs taunting him "Arvin's got a date " or " Arvin's all loved bugged for y/n" he shook his head
"You keep sayin that I'll throw you out of my damn truck " lenora gasped " if you did I'd tell grandma " he laughed "yeah I know you would " he rolled his eyes as they pulled in to the drive way and made there way inside
