Narrator's POV
Oh great sage, if you can hear our calls, please, atleast give us a message.
The mysterious nine-tailed creatures whispered their desperate pleas of help. The statue they were worshipping was rumored from ancient times to be the eight-tailed fox sage who helped Garam create the world they were currently living in. As they muttered those last words, the statue suddenly began cracking. Light seeped from the cracks and soon started to blind the creatures when more and more cracks started to form.
As the light finally started to fade away, a figure, which was eerily similar to the statue they were worshipping stood in place. The figure seemed to have their eyes closed, seemingly sleeping. But it didn't take that long for her to wake up.
The now awake figure, was not surprisingly the ancient sage that the ninetails were worshipping. The eight-tailed fox looked day her surroundings in confusion, confused on what interrupted what was supposed to be a long nap.
Her eyes landed on the Ninetails, looking at her in awe, shock and fear. Although she had never seen these creatures before, she had been in this situation recently a few years ago. These things were probably worshipping her.
She felt an un-easy aura from the Ninetails, Despite the shock and fear the figure was feeling, She could tell the Ninetailed creatures were pleading for her help.
She sighed, knowing she'd have to do something. This time she felt that whatever these things requested for her to help them with, it would take a long time.
A very long time.
Nari's POV
So, from what I've seen so far, these things are some otherworldly creatures worshipping Garam and me. Well, it didn't take too long for me to know that I'm in a different world when the creatures explained the past of this world.
Garam, was rumored to be the fox sage to create the world. With me helping him.
But I suddenly stopped him from doing so when the world was about to be finished, leaving the corrupted and haunted area's to be full of pokemon.
Now for the problem.
They requested me to save their entire species along with their kin. Their whole species.
Garam, please, take my spot. You may say I'm a better sage but you're more powerful than me and more capable of saving an entire species (of your creation) from extinction.
Well, I can't really complain now ever since I've saved Garam and fixed the other things greedy humans have caused.
But it's really thanks to that knight. They made things I couldn't do possible and managed to save Garam.
I am indebted to that knight, and swore a promise to never complain, or refuse an offer for help, no matter how hard it is.
With slight hesitation, I accepted. The nervousness in the air of the Ninetails disappeared immediately when I accepted.
If you may, great fox sage-
Just call me Nari. I don't wanna be called some fancy thing like that
I interrupted him when he called me that title. Not really one to use formalities.
W-why yes Nari! My sincerest apologies..
The Ninetails that I interrupted frantically fixed his mistake. Thinking that I'd probably kill him or something when I said to not call me something fancy.
Just how bad did the rumors make me?
-Time Skip to Tomorrow-
Well, I've gotten enough rest. I guess today is the day I try to finish this probably impossible task.
I wrote a note in the room I was staying in. Saying that I'll be back after I fix the problems. Let's hope they'll last until I get back.
After I finish, I set it on the wall near the bed. With that out of the way, I'm ready.
I prepare my sage bead, it gathers up lots of energy until a rip in the air appears, sucking me in.
Time freezes in the present. The pathway to the past opens up.
I have a feeling this is gonna be a long one. I couldn't help but say to myself.
