Chapter one: Forever is a long time

"Alexia Thomas, will you be my girlfriend?" Cam asked me holding out a rose, looking down at the ground but his eyes looking into mine. Making my heart race.
"Y-i-um-of course" I said wrapping my arms around his neck. I've know Cam for 5 years and I've liked him for 1 year and now he finally asks me! Of course I'm going to say yes....he's my everything, my life.

I don't want that to be creepy. But seriously have you ever felt that way, you know heart racing, room spinning, breath taken away when your with him...ya that's how I feel. Almost every day of my life. when Cam asked me I feel it took a huge weight off my shoulders.

We just graduated last night from our last year of high school and i am totally excited for collage, my mom said that college was the best! I hope she is right, I'll be disappointed if she isn't right, I'll go out tonight to visit my mom. I miss her I need to talk to her.

Page break
I closed the door on the passenger side of my best friends drive (A/N- see what i did there😏) and turned to her,
"He asked me out" i squealed
"Cam?!" She said looking directly at me with her eyes wide. She knew how crazy i was about him.
"Yes!" I said
"Oh my god Al! Thats amazing!" She said smiling
"I wonder how long he's been working up the courage to ask me?" I said wondering
"Probably forever!" She said
"Ya right" i said
"Oh please your beautiful, smart, talented and my best friend, who couldn't love you?" She said stopping the car at another red light.
"Catching all the red lights?" I said teasingly. Karla hates red lights, especially catching all of them.
"Shut up!" She laughed

"Drop me off here" i said
"But its 3 blocks away from your house" karla complained
"I want to see my mom" i said
She just nodded and pulled over, she knows how hard the last couple months have been for me with my mom and dad and all that, its just been a mess.

I walked down the road till i found the place and opened the steel gate and went inside, tripping over a stone in the process. I walked for about 5 minutes using my phone as a flash light. I knelt down in the dirt in front of my mom and dad's grave,
"Hey guys, i miss you, I've made it 2 months without breaking down again...and i have really good news, remember Cam, my best friend. the one I'm crazy about, ya well he finally asked me out. I love you guys, I'll be back again. And yes grandma and grandpa have been taking great care of me. I will move out of the house pretty soon though so, thats exciting! They miss you and so do I." I finished standing up and wiping a few single tears away and starting the walk home.

When I finally got home my eyes were dry and my feet were numb. I opened the front door and yelled,
"I'm home!!"
I got no reply. I turned on the lights and saw a sticky note on the counter. It said,
Hey Alexa,
Your Grandpa and I are just somewhere for a little while we'll be back in a week or so,
Love -Grandma and
Grandpa

I whipped out my phone and dialled Cam,
"Hello?" He asked
"Cam, I'm home alone for a while want to come and stay a few nights?" I asked
"Just me and you or other people too???" He asked
"I wasn't planing on having everyone over" i said
"Ok, I'll be right over" he said
"You can stay 2-3 nights" i said
"Ok, see you soon"
"Ok bye"

I hung up the phone and stared at the clock,
2 minutes went bye
5 minutes went bye
Then finally 8 minutes went bye

Ding dong

I ran to the door and peered out the peek hole to see Cam standing there. I swung open the door And he smiled, i love his smile, its so big and bright and cheerful.
"Hey" he said "may i come in?"
"Ya sure" i said "i was planning on keeping you out there all night" i joked
"I would be a little mad" he laughed
"Then I would be a little sad" I pouted
"Just don't leave me outside" he said
"Oh no, I promise I won't" I said
"So whats the plan?" He asked
"Watch movies, eat snacks, hang out" I said
"As boyfriend and girlfriend? Or friends?" He asked
"Well we aren't "just friends"" i said making air quotations with my fingers
"No, we aren't. And i am so happy you said yes" he said as we sat on the couch
"Me too" i replied
"So....what movie first?" He asked
"Marley and me!!!" I shouted
"But its so sad..." He complained
"No. Not the whole movie" I said.
"Fine we'll watch it. But I get to choose the next movie then" he said stubbornly
"Fine, but lets just watch this movie already!" I said turning on Netflix and finding Marley And Me. We settled on the couch, Cam's arm draped across my shoulders and my head against his shoulder. It was actually quite comfy.

After watching our 3rd movie I felt tiredness take over my body and I drifted off,
"Good night Beautiful, i love you. Forever i will love you." Cam whispered to me.
"Forever, is a long time" I replied
I felt him pick me up but i was too far off to come back to earth and tell him to not carry me I'll walk,
But instead i let sleep take over and pull me into a long,
Undisturbed sleep.

Hey there!!! This actually didn't take as long as I thought if was going to to write so i would say maybe every Wednesday i will update....because that is today and A/N and contests will be uploaded on different days. Tell me what you think of this chapter!!!! Please i move the feedback, it makes me a better writer, tell me one thing i did good and one thing you wish for me to improve on,
