" No one is as adventurous as you, ma'am."
"Ah, Ahem what?" I murmured blushing.
"What, what? Aiyana you're murmuring to yourself ?" Aurora interrupts while realising that I was succumbing with no one.
"I'm sorry, but I was talking to him" I replied.
"With, sweetheart!?" Aurora questioned.
I looked around and found no one, the mysterious guy I met wasn't real? Ah ? I questioned myself feeling stupid around everyone.
While most of the students had reached on time, a few were yet to register. Some sprinted at the last minute and joined the gathering, The principal began with a welcome note to everyone, after he spoke about the greatness of the college. Giving the example of the access code and carrying on the tradition of their precious intelligent minds and shaping them into bright individuals.
A teachers joined him later and spoke our the cultures, rules and regulations, most first year students ignored it as usual.
On the other hand, the boys used the time to take a look at the girls. The next thing on their mind was to learn names of pretty faces who they thought they would introduce themselves.
Elijah at the other end of the hallway wearing a dark-black hoodie and his hands deep in is pocket, he stared at me for a few seconds, just the way he did yesterday and then he averts his gaze to walk in front of us.
My breath caught up in throat, when he says my name for the first time. "Aiyana" it sounds like a foreign coming from himself.
"Yes, Elijah." Aurora yell chuckling.
"Did I mention that you're not Aiyana darling."
Elijah leans even closer, his gaze on me so intense that I'm scared to break our eye contact now. " Aiyana, can you meet me in person later?" He lowered his voice.
He startles me. The sentence sends chill through my body, how could a guy flip his personality that fast, one time. He made me smile but then he sent shivers down my spine.
I tried to pretend to scoff with ignorance but instead I node in yes. I know how stupidly I'd been behaving today.
"Perfect, I'll meet you at café, 5 o'clock down street road, don't be late. He chuckled and immediately left the place without a word.
" Someone is going on a date with a person where the most eyes admire about" Aurora burnt into laughter along with Alan.
"Haha, Nice try it's not a date he just asked me to meet him, so stop assuming things and making fun of me. I replied but it deep down made me smile.
As the speech ended. we shuffled around into our classes and continued the usual schedule. After the classes had gotten over, Majority of the boys stayed back to play football within the campus ground, so did Alan.
We usually walked on our way back home. While walking Aurora asked me what was I up to.
On finding out the reason behind her question I giggled in my lightheadedness and said, ' Is that the reason you have been waiting for so long?'
"Yeah; Aurora responded, a little curious.
"I made up my mind to go for it. All right, I am leaving now! I said and stepped into the third street.
"Okay, good luck! For the date." Aurora shouted behind me.
"Shut up, it's not a date" I laughed and left her sight.
The moment I reached home, I took out the keys and tried to open the door but some things weren't in my favour, the door was jammed, feeling terrible about it. I screamed aloud " Damn dad why don't you fix things soon and now your gone for some stupid work leaving me alone here and didn't even try to call me up."
"Here, let me try," a deep voice says behind me. And, I'm an instant, I turn back and my eyes nearly popped out of in shock, In front of me was a stranger I met in the college but was it real or not I did not have any idea about.
His hairs wad just a dark black mess, which somehow looks amazing and accents his light-skinned. His sporting cheeky grin, Uff, which defines his jawline so amiable.
"I'm sorry ?" I said, but it comes out more as a question. I avert my glance from his deep down eyes, which seem to capture my attention towards him.
"Let me try to open the door, I heard you screaming, sorry." He said with a mischievous smile playing along his rosy lips.
"Uh, okay please go ahead and my apologies about earlier." I gave him a smile.
He tried to open the door but unfortunately, we had to call the locksmith but none agreed to come immediately.
"If you don't mind, you can come over my place until the locksmith arrives." He insists
"Ah, your place?"
"I stay next door, your new neighbour I just shifted yesterday." He said
"I hope I'm not disturbing you by joining in, I'm Aiyana." I introduced.
It's true, helplessly admiring his personality, things weren't same I met this person but it wasn't real, how is it even possible to see someone this morning and now meeting him in real.
"Gabriel woods." A broad smile took birth on his lips while introducing himself.
There was a huge lawn, at a distance while he unlocked the main gate and we walked in, In every corner of the lawn, there were more than a dozen plants with multicoloured flowers blossoming on them. Butterflies fluttered from one flower to another.
He quickly opened the entrance door, Gabriel stepped inside and invited me in, I followed him inside the living room, it was neat and tiny with a book shelf that had all sort of collection. New and old genres.
For next few minute Gabriel was quiet, watching me admiring his collections meanwhile, I pulled at the book, And turned around. I felt my eyes widen realising Gabriel was just behind me.
"Sorry Gabriel, I didn't mean to offend you." I apologised for being such a stupid person on this world.
What an awkward experience.
"Some coffee?" He chuckled while patting me on my shoulders."
I bend uncomfortably to pick up the book, I dropped accidentally, scattered on the floor but unfortunately I was about to fall. I feel his hands grip on mine. I blinked and when I look up I felt his eyes that seem to connect unerringly with mine while bringing along a sense intense feeling that felt violently on my body.
