"Ok, lets go back to my house. It's raining here we might catch a cold" I say, as we start heading to my car.
As we're driving along the roads, I slowly start getting nostalgia once again. I remember how we used to drive along the same roads, over and over again, ever time we were sad, bored, angry, happy, tired. Any time we wanted to. We always stayed together no matter what.
"Hey, can I get the aux please?" Tommy asks, taking me out of my deep thought.
"Yea sure"
He takes the aux and puts in Cupid Chokehold my Gym Class Heroes (PLAY ABOVE). I remember it was one of our favorite songs to listen to while driving.
"Take a look at my girlfriend, yea she's the only one I got" Tommy sings while looking at me.
"Not much of a girlfriend, I never seem to get a lot- That's not true" He once again sings but this time, adds his own twist.
I giggle a bit at his comment and continue to drive. The sky is a beautiful gradient of orange and yellow, really setting the vibe now.
"I missed this. Really, I truly did." I say, kind of scared and shy like when we first met. I haven't seen him in forever, he's like a new person. A stranger.
"I did too, N/N. I did too."
(N/N= Nick Name)
We continue driving, and I don't realize that a tear has dropped slowly, but surely, onto my cheek. I only realize when Tommy asks
"N/N, are you okay? You're crying?"
"Yea, I'm fine Tommy. I'm just, happy."
We arrive back at me house and we reconnect. He explains to me one more time what the actual fuck happened that night, and I start feeling so bad once I found out the real reason.
We order pizza, we watch Cloud Atlas and then Hamilton, and Tommy ends up sleeping at my house. It's like everything is back together. I truly missed this.
I really did.
