Rain

She stood there

She let the rain drench her clothes

The mist burrow in her hair

The puddles collect at her feet

She didn't move

She didn't fight

Because she was done

She had finally given up

So she looked down at her feet

And watched the water rise

Covering her ankles and knees

Covering her thighs

The tide was to her neck

Blanketing her shoulders

Filling her mouth

But she continued to let it smolder

She drowned in the rain

Because she was done trying

But the rain were her tears

And she was actually dying
