Our little hang out started with talking about people in town. This helped me a lot surprisingly. Now I know who to stay away from. Then they started asking about America.
"How was America?" Ashton asks.
"Yeah tell us." Calum joins.
"I mean it's okay, I guess." I shrug.
"What do you mean by that?" Michael asks.
"Other people would say America is amazing, it's just that I'm different. Different opinions on things." I smile.
"I hope one day we get to go to America." Luke whispers.
"Any reason?" I ask, smiling at how cute his face looked when he said that.
"Well, we sorta play in a band." Ashton shyly answers me.
"Wait, you guys are in a band?" I ask.
"Yup." Calum states, popping the 'p'.
"Cool. Can I hear you play?" I ask causally.
"You want to hear us play?" Michael asks.
"Yeah. Why? Do people not like when you guys play?" I ask.
"People just never asked." Luke shrugs.
"Do you guys write your own music?" I ask.
"Yeah, we all do an equal part." Calum smiles.
"Now I want to hear." I nod, telling them to sing or whatever.
"Well it's going to take us a while with the drum set." Ashton replies, standing up.
"You guys play your own instruments too?" I ask, dazed.
"Yup." Luke replies, pooping the 'p' like Calum.
"That's seriously amazing." I state.
"Thanks." They utter in unison.
As they get ready I sit on the couch. I watch Ashton set up the drums. Michael choosing between guitars. Calum strumming his bass. Finally, Luke, tuning his guitar. I was excited to see something like this. Luke hands me lyrics.
"So you can go along with us." He gives me a cheeky grin.
I smile back.
'She Looks so Perfect' was the title. I could already tell that it was going to be amazing. Then they started to play, and I was in love with it.
They were all amazing. Then it was finished, I was speechless.
"What ya think?" Luke asks shyly.
"I LOVE IT!" I screamed.
"Jesus." Calum mumbles.
"Shut up Calum. YOU GUYS WERE AMAZING!!!" I yell, jumping up from the couch and giving them hugs.
"I'm glad you liked it Katie." Michael smiles.
"You guys should get like a record deal or something." I state.
"Katie, it's a lot of money and what if we don't make it?" Luke states.
"I'll help pay. I want you guys to perform. Live." I reply, stubbornly.
"Well first, I wanna go to college." Ashton states.
"Why?" I ask.
"In case this thing doesn't work. I would have other options." He replies.
"Why don't you guys believe in yourselves?" I ask, looking between them.
"Because it's not happened to anyone in Australia." Calum shrugs.
"Ugh." I sigh, looking at the time.
"Oh my god! I have to go!" I gasp.
"I'll take you home." Luke answers.
"Sweet thanks." I smile.
I said goodbye to the guys, who were upset that I was leaving, and Luke and I were off.
"Did you enjoy coming over?" Luke asks in the car.
"Yeah, it was fun. Thanks again for letting me come and convincing me." I laugh.
"Yeah totally." He smiles.
He pulls up my driveway.
"Well if I don't see you anytime sooner, see ya at college." I laugh, turning towards Luke.
"Oh you will see more of me. I like you. We all have to stay together. Because I consider you a friend now." Luke smiles.
"You don't even know me. I could be a rapist." I state.
"You aren't. I read people." Luke laughs.
"Okay smart ass." I smile.
"Well the guys and I are going to the fair. Wanna come?" He asks.
"Yeah. You guys are like my only friends. Need to keep friendships." I laugh.
"Sweet, I'll pick you up around 1:00." Luke responds.
"Okay, sweet." I smile, getting out of the car.
"Bye Kathleen." Luke says.
"How did you know my full name?" I asked.
"I guessed." He shrugs.
"Well, you were right." I laugh.
"Bye Lucas." I call back.
"How did you know that?" Luke asks.
"I guessed." I say, slamming the door and walking towards my house.
