Breaking Down

 Seth and Roman sat nervously as they watched Dr. Gray examine Dean, first checking the burns on his face and neck, she was very pleased with how they healed, with only faded scarring. Then she began examining his eyes, this was a longer process and Seth and Roman could tell Dean's eyes were still hurting him by the look on his face. Both were hoping for good news, but when she put more drops in his eyes, before applying cream and covering them again they knew it wasn't good.

 "They aren't getting better are they?" Dean asked sounding defeated, both Seth and Roman hated hearing him like that, it broke their hearts. 

 "No, Dean they aren't, I'm sorry." Dr. Gray confirmed gently.

 "No! We did everything we were supposed to!" Seth spoke up suddenly, he was upset. "We followed the directions! Why isn't he better?" Seth demanded close to tears his heart broke, the man he loved was hurting and no one could help him!

 "Seth, calm down." Roman said gently squeezing his shoulder.

 "I'm going to get some fresh air!" Seth said as he left before his tears could fall.

 "Sorry Dr. Gray. We..."

 "No need to apologize, I understand." Dr. Gray said cutting Roman off. "As for your eyes, there's no change, so our next step is surgery to remove the film covering your eyes." She explained.

 "Is it guaranteed to work? Will he be able to see?" Roman asked noticing how quiet Dean was.

 "Unfortunately there's no guarantee that it will work. There's about a 50/50 chance! I have an opening next week." Dr. Gray answered.

 "Can...can I think about it and call you?" Dean asked.

 "Of course, it's a lot to think about I understand. Here's my card, in my opinion though I think you should do the operation. The choice though is yours, I'm sorry I didn't have better news for you."

 "Thank you Dr. Gray." Dean said as they shook her hand and she gave Roman her card before she left.

 "You ready to go D?" Roman asked helping him get down off the exam table.

 "Yeah. Did Seth come back?" Dean asked putting on his jacket.

 "No, he's probably waiting at the car." Roman answered as they left the office.

**Later**:

 After leaving the office they found Seth at the car and on the drive to the hotel Roman filled him in on what Dr. Gray had told them, Dean listened to them talk as if he wasn't even there which made him angry. At the hotel Dean laid down for a while before they had to go to the arena, Seth and Roman were worried about him, he hadn't said anything since leaving the doctors. At the arena Seth and Roman had a tag match against the Uso's, Dean stayed behind in their locker room like usual, tonight he was even more depressed than usual after hearing what the doctor told him. As he sat listening to the match, someone knocked on the door, he called out to them.

 "It's open!"

 "Hey Dean, it's John." Cena said smiling as he came into the room. "I came to see if you needed anything since Rollins and Reigns are in the ring?"

 "You're the fourth person to check on me!" Dean said hiding his annoyance behind a smile. "Brie, Bryan, and Dolph have all been in here." 

 "Oh, so you don't need anything?" Cena asked, Dean shook his head no. "Cool, I'll just keep you company then!"

 "You don't need to John, I'm okay really. Seth and Ro will be back soon." Dean said just wanting to be left alone.
