EARLIER THAT MORNING.

Eren was shocked to know you weren't at Historia's funeral. His eyes anxiously searched for your face among everyone as he walked past them, dressed in all black. He saw your aunt and cousins but you were nowhere to be found.

"Where is y/n?" He asked one of your cousins as he walked up to them.

"We haven't seen her since morning." She said.

"What do you mean you haven't seen her? This is not the right time to leave her alone! You know how reckless she can be!" He yelled.

"She's not a kid. We tried contacting her but she left her cell phone at home. What are we supposed to do? I'm sure she'll be okay" She said in a rather annoyed tone.

"She's going to be okay?! She's not at her sister's funeral how is that okay at all?" He tightened his fists and stomped his feet. Everyone was staring at him as he stormed towards his car. He started driving to where he knew you'd be, the lakeside.

When he was few meters away from the lakeside, he already saw you from the distance, sitting there with your chin resting on your knees.

He knew you were crying sitting in that position.

"It's going to be okay, I'm here now" he whispered to himself as he parked the vehicle and closed the door.

His stomach dropped and his face turned blue when he turned his back. You weren't there. He, with his shaky legs, walked up to where he saw you sitting. "Y/N" he called out wishing for you to reappear out of nowhere, just like you had disappeared.

"Y/n" he screeched, his voice echoed like there was nothing but emptiness surrounding him. He fell onto his knees as he felt his heart shredding into pieces.

"Where have you gone? You were right here" he cried out again. "Where have you gone" he yelled repeatedly grabbing his hair with both his hands. His screams turned into a muffled cry. "Where are you" he said one last time before his eyes opened and he saw himself in his bed.

"why were you shouting at 6 in the morning man?" Armin asked Eren as they were having breakfast.

"It's nothing" he said not looking armin in the eyes.

"Dont lie to me. You're having dreams again, aren't you?" Armin said hesitantly knowing that it was a sensitive topic for him.

Eren slouched on the chair and rested his head back, staring at the ceiling. "Yes, it was." he responded in a voice that was barely even audible.

"You should seek professional help at this point." armin said.

"It's not an everyday thing now, like it used to be. I dreamt about it after months"
Eren said closing his eyes.

He couldn't lie to Armin, it was more like he didn't want to because of how trustworthy he was and how much he cared about him. He knew about james and historia but Eren never told him the whole thing.

"I never told you the name of the girl, right? Eren questioned.

"You don't have to. You shouldn't talk about things that make you uncom-" armin was interrupted by him.

"It's y/n" eren stated, leaving armin dumbfounded.

"She doesn't even know about James' death" he sighed and armin was still trying to process it all.

There was a brief silence until armin finally spoke up. "Well, i don't know what to say but now that she's here, why do you act like you never even knew her"

"What else can i do? Did it ever seem like she cares even a bit about it while she's around me?" He scoffed.

"No, but it seems like you don't care either when you're around her" armin said nervously.
