Isolde Eidsvoll is dead.

not that it'd change anything in Elijah's life, he only spoke to her like 3 times. but still, she seemed nice, and she didn't deserve to die

that's all the sympathy she'd get from Elijah though, he wasn't one to care about death as much as other people do

when Turid told Laurits and Elijah Isolde died, he was surprised, maybe even grieved for about 30 seconds, and then went back to normal, ate his cereal, and went to school

he could clearly see it wasn't the same thing for Magne though. of course it wasn't, she was his best friend

Magne seemed completely devastated, and Elijah didn't blame him. Even though he knew he'd never let himself appear that vulnerable to other people, but that's just who Elijah is

they got into the school, Laurits and Elijah were right behind Magne as they entered the classroom

there were flowers and candles and shit like that in Isolde's side of their desk, Magne stared at it for a second, everyone staring at him, and sat down on his side

only then, everyone sat on their own chairs, most of the class still staring at Magne

Ran Jutul got into the classroom, stopping in front of everyone

"hello, everyone. I know this would normally be your history class, but, uh, for obvious reasons, Erik isn't here today" she said and sighed "I want you all to know that you-" she started but the door opened and Erik appeared

"hi" he said "I just couldn't bear sitting at home" he turned to the students "hi everybody... yeah" he said and turned back to Ran "I'll be fine"

"you sure?" she asked and he nodded "yeah, yeah"

"but the spring party on Friday will obviously be canceled out of-"

"no, no, let's have the party as planned. I'm sure that's what, uh, that's what Isolde would have wanted" he said, and Ran nodded before leaving the room and the class started

again, nothing really happened in school besides a cop and a psychologist showing up to talk to the students

the day was even worst than normal, and even though Laurits would never admit it, he looked a bit down too. Elijah was probably the only one in his normal self there

Elijah had felt completely out of place the entire day, being the only one to not seem a bit sad felt weird

maybe it was because of the trauma of his parents dying? he didn't know, he just didn't care that much

it felt really weird, he felt a little guilty for not caring. the girl had just died, he should care, but he just didn't

anyway, they all got home and Laurits made cup noodles for him and Elijah

they were both eating it while Magne brought some boxes into the house

Elijah wasn't sure what the boxes were, but he remembered someone saying was some of Turid's stuff from who knows where and when

"aren't you gonna help?" Magne asked them "there are a lot more outside"

"you seem to be doing just fine" Laurits said and pulled Elijah's arm so they would go back upstairs

they got in the room and Laurits put Guns n' Roses on before sitting on his bed, Elijah sat on his bed, eating the cup noodles

he glanced at Laurits, he was eating his cup noodles but he seemed pretty lost in his own mind
