"Afraid?" She nervously chuckled, "Do you not know who I am? Why would i be afraid?" As brave as she intended on sounding, she was afraid. Afraid of all the bad things she knew that was going to happen. She was afraid of what she knew she couldn't stop, no matter how much she willed for the power to stop it.

"Because, you know." The man said blankly, leaving no hints to anything at all. Just three words, that made absolutely no sense, but all the sense in the world.

"With all respect to you, I'm not exactly a Jedi, so if you could be more specific? That would do me a world of good." She laughed and watched as the man rolled his eyes, letting out an offended scoff of her own.

"If you wake up, it's only a matter of time before you fuck up again. It's what you're best at it." He grimaced, seeing right through the barriers she had put up.

"Nonsense, I have everything under control." She furrowed her eyebrows and watched as the man walked in circles around her, his body language represented that of a shark, waiting for the right moment to pounce on its helpless prey.
--
Wanda glances up from her book to
Y/n from her chair that she had previously pulled over beside the bed and smiles softly as she was once again, glad to have the real Y/n back.

However, it only took her a moment to realise that something was wrong. Y/n was very much restless, and practically dripping in sweat, and the time they had spent together in the past taught her that that was far from normal, she was having a nightmare.

"Y/n?" She called out worriedly.
--
"It might take two days. Two months, two years, but it's gonna happen. You're smart enough to know I'm right, so just accept it."

"Shut up..Stop it." She asked, trying to keep some sort of pride in how she spoke, trying to shut the mysterious man from her conscience.

"You're going to eventually go crazy, and then you'll terribly hurt one of your fellow avengers. Maybe Romanoff. Maybe Barton, maybe even.." The man shrugged as he trailed off, completely unbothered. He wanted Y/n to admit he was right. Infact, he wouldn't leave until she did.

"Stop it!" She pleaded, knowing exactly where the sentence was going.
--
A single tear fell down her cheek which brought Wanda a nauseous sensation in her stomach. She slowly stands before walking over to her before crouching down infront of her, shaking her shoulder ever so gently.

"Y/n..? Hey, you..It's time to wake up." She murmured, reaching her hand towards her face and stroking a few strands of hair out of her face.

She got no form of response from Y/n, even in her dream-like state, she didn't hear anything from the real world. All that she could hear was the voice of the man who seemed to be hell-bent on torturing Y/n With something as little as words.

"Or, you'll kill the girl you love. It is inevitable, you're a destroyer Y/n. You hurt people, it's what you do, its what you're best at and you know it."

"You don't know me. I won't hurt her, or anyone else, so shut up with all of that destroyer stuff."

"No, admit it. You will dissapoint them, all over again, because, its what you do. Listen." The man seemed convinced he was right, that she would ruin everything, and it hurt her to see that someone could be so convinced she was capable of all that evil.

"You think I don't already know that?!" She snapped, an irritated snarl escaping her lips.

"And, so, you'd rather stay away, for all eternity." He stated, a proud smile on his face.

Y/n frowns and looks down at the floor, the man was right, about everything. As confusing as it was for her, this man knew everything about her, despite her knowing nothing about him.

"Seeing as you claim to know it all, who the hell are you?" She questioned.

"I'm you. Well, I'm just a part of your subconscious, technically you're talking to yourself. It's crazy, isn't it?"

Y/n looked up at him and scoffed, shaking her head. "You..You, you're chatting shit. That's not possible."

"Oh but it is," He shot back, stepping towards her. "I'm just here to tell you what you need to hear, what you're supressing..You need to accept the truth."

Y/n furrowed her brows and opened her mouth to reply to herself, however, her eyes shot open before she could say what she wanted to.

She gasped and stared up the ceiling, ignoring the contact from Wanda to focus on catching her breath, "It's true, all of it.." She said, speaking between breaths.

"What's true Y/n? Is everything alright?" She moved her hand so that y/n could calm without feeling too overwhelmed and sat down on the bed, watching her with concerned eyes.

"Wanda stay back." She ordered, quickly standing up from the bed and backing into the corner of the room.

"Y/n.." She spoke her name quietly, a feeling of hurt rushing over her at how quickly she had moved away from her. Wanda couldn't help but wonder,

"what if it's my fault?"
