"ms.l/n!" a little kid had outstretched their hand waving into the air. i was under the impression they were all listening to the lesson in front of them yet, the inquiring eyes of my class were set on something behind me.
i followed their eyes and noticed the time, "alright kids it's time for recess! let's line up at the door please."
cyra had taken my class to recess since the board had requested that i send an important email to them by today.
griffin and a certain ash blonde had sheepishly lagged behind the rest of the class, careful not bring attention to themselves.
the pair had perked up in front of my desk, "ms. y/n is it our turn to have the bicycles right?" the boy had grinned with his toothy smile.
"uh," i stammered bringing out the clipboard that held the important papers, "yep!"
"yes!" they both held a fist bump for each other to pound. they had scurried out of the room quick to not loose any more of their recess time.
i had finished up the remainder of the email and sent it. leaning back into my chair letting out an exaggerated sigh.
i tidied my partially dirty desk and closed my laptop and stuffed it into my bag since i wouldn't use it for the rest of the day.
