"Don't you dare come closer..." She threatens, body shaking from where she's hiding. The drizzling rain only moments ago shatter, heavy drops smacking the pavement, blurring my sight.

Her figure is small and bent over on the parking lot floor and shielding her is a car in front of me. His shouts are getting clearer and louder with every beat of my heart. I swear, I have to do something now. Before it's too late to say I even tried.

I crouch behind the car, praying that I am hidden but I can't stay still for much longer. "Please," I whisper, "Listen to me, I can help you get outta here." I reach for her hand and she whimpers backwards. Shaking my head I knew exactly what I would have to do...
