Chapter 9

Y/N POV

The next morning came, and luckily it was the weekend. The bad news: Weiss thought it would be a good idea for us to go into town and "welcome" the students from the other academies.

Weiss: Ohh, the Vytal festival. I can't possibly think of any better time than this.

Yang: I'm actually scared seeing this side of you. Like I'm expecting you to pull some evil trick from a hat or something.

Weiss: Quiet you.

Y/N: Can someone explain to me why we're at the docks again?

Ruby plugs her nose from the smell.

Ruby: They smell like fish.

Y/N: Ruby... you do know where we are, right?

Ban quietly laughed at that as Ruby tried pummeling me like a little child.

Weiss: Teams from all over the kingdoms are coming in. I thought it would be proper of us to welcome them in.

Diane: Ten lien says she wants to just spy on them to get information.

Meliodas: You're on.

Blake: She definitely wants to spy on them, and learn about them.

Weiss: You can't prove that.

Diane: Pay up, captain.

Meliodas: Dammit.

The captain pulled his wallet out, and gave Diane the money. After some walking, we saw a crime scene in an alleyway.

Ruby: What happened here?

Detective: Another dust robbery.

Ban: Heyyy, someone robbed a place, and it wasn't me for a change.

We all looked at Ban, including the detective.

Ban: What? Hey, my hands are clean.

The detective shook his head, and moved on.

King: Hey Ban, consider the following: shut the hell up.

Gowther: This dust I keep hearing about... is that a source of power here?

Yang: Yes and no. Sure it powers a lot of things, but it has other uses.

Investigator1: It's weird, they left all the money again.

Investigator2: Huh... hey, who even needs that much dust anyways?

Investigator1: You got me on that one.

Investigator2: You thinking it could be the uhhh White Fang?

Investigator1: Yeah, I'm thinking we don't get paid enough for this shit.

Weiss: Hmph, the white fang.

Aaaand at this point, Weiss and Blake have a bit of an argument I don't even bother to keep up with at this point.

???: Hey, stop that faunas.

???: Thanks for the ride guys. Hahahaaa!!

???: You no good stowaway!!

???: Hey, a no-good stowaway would've been caught. I'm a GREAT stowaway.

Detective: Hey!!! Get down from there this instant.

The faunas man drops a banana peel on the detective's face before he bolts. He runs past us and winks at Diane and Blake.

Blake: Well, you wanted to see the competition.

Weiss: Quick, we have to observe him!!

We give chase save for myself, Meliodas, King and Ban.

Meliodas: You guys wanna grab some grub since we're out here?

Ban: I'm down.

King: I could go for a bite.

Y/N: Why not? I'm a bit peckish myself.

We went to a local restaurant, and grabbed some food before we went back to the academy. Along the way, we could hear Weiss and Blake arguing yet again all the way to the dorm rooms. It even carried over into the evening.

Ban: Hey, five bucks to the first person to get them to shut up over there. I'm trying to sleep here.

King: Agreed. The noise is becoming a pain.

Blake: (slightly muffled) WELL MAYBE WE WERE JUST TIRED OF BEING PUSHED AROUND!!!

We all sat up and looked at each other.

Everyone: Blake was with the white fang??

Soon after we said that, we heard a door burst open, and rapid footsteps that began receding into the distance.

Ban: Finally, some quiet.

Both Ban and King soon passed out after that.

Meliodas: Do you... think we should check on them?

Y/N: As much as I want to... I'm af-fraid to even step out there all things considered, captain.

Diane: I'm surprised that Blake is a faunas in the first place.

Y/N: Well, I knew she was. Her bow resembled cat ears, sooo... naturally, she would want to hide them, you know? I wouldn't blame her. I know I would if I was once belonged to basically a terrorist organization.

Merlin: No matter, the situation is a team matter for them. I'm not gonna get involved.

Y/N: Agreed.

Meliodas: I'm out... welp, goodnight everyone.

Y/N: Night captain.

I yawned, and soon after fell asleep. I somehow had a sneaking suspicion that I'm gonna need the rest.
