"Hey PG, do you think we could talk?" Emily asks, as she closes the door.
"Of course my lovely, what will the topic be about?"
"Let's just wait for JJ."
Another month has passed by and Emily felt like she was in a good place. From now to her first day at the BAU, it's been the most positive she's ever been. She even offers to buy the team coffee and food every other week.
Occasionally she thinks about Ian, and how he hasn't tried to make contact with her in any way. Her bruises and injuries were basically completely healed. At times, she catches herself being sad and scared about the topic of him coming back any time soon. But right now, she didn't need him to come back because she was at peace with herself, for the most part.
Work has been great for Emily, the continuous love the team has given her has been tremendous. Her bonds with each of them have grown exceptionally closer, including with Hotch.
Penelope first noticed it a week after they came back from that case in Michigan. The sassy attitude from Emily Prentiss slowly died down, and that's what caught Garcia's eye. The fact that Emily always had that personality made her wonder what is changing her ways.
Surely but not discreetly, Emily finds out that Penelope found out that Emily and Hotch shared a room. This led her to find out that they shared a bed together for a couple nights.
"Shut up! Shut up! Shut up! Tell me more," Penelope's grin becomes bigger.
"I don't know which one to do," Emily scratches her head in confusion.
Penelope tried to bribe Emily with food to tell her more details, and eventually it worked. But all Emily mentioned was that they talked about regular things.
"Well my sweet, that is surely progress," Penelope takes a sip of her coffee. "Glad to know things are slowly getting better."
But what Emily realized that Penelope didn't realize was that she never mentioned about forgiving Hotch. This was constantly on her mind.
From the moment they got back from the case, Hotch has been nothing but friendly and kind. The whole team pretty much noticed his efforts, even Derek tried to joke around with this topic.
"Okay, what is wrong with Hotch? It's almost like he's being held against his will to be this kind."
His friendliness continued within the team. He brought them donuts before they began their case, chocolate covered sprinkle for Spencer, of course. He even offered to let them go home early on paperwork days.
But the person he was most friendly with was Emily. Along with the donuts, he brought her coffee, only her. The first day he did that, she was completely confused.
"Sir you must be mistaken, this coffee shouldn't be for me," Emily shakes her head.
Hotch pushes the coffee towards Emily. "Yes it is, just take it please."
Emily gives in and thanks him for the coffee.
But Hotch's weird actions concern Emily. Yes they were friends, and that meant she could worry about him. Right?
"Okay... so something's up with Hotch," Emily takes a seat in a spinny chair, starting the conversation.
"Like sick wise? Reid is not going to like that," Penelope chuckles as she fiddles with a pen that has a unicorn's head at the top of it.
Emily shakes her head. "Not him being sick. Like Hotch being Hotch. He's been awfully nice, all he does is nice gestures for us."
