It was cold, he was cold, the world was cold. There wasn't a feeling for this, there weren't words, she was so overwhelmed and stressed out by him that she wasn't sure how to control her anger. She had been engaged him for a few months, he wanted to plan the wedding but Lily wanted to do anything but, she was sick of being treated like crap, but sometimes, Lily thought that she actually deserved it. She was always wrong when she thought this of course, but he had a way of maneuvering the truth and making a lie look genuine. She hated it, she despised him, but she was so scared of leaving him.

If she left him, she would feel like he would just come back and not let her leave, but if she didn't leave she would never be able to actually live. She would forever be doing what he wanted, she would be like his property instead of his wife, she hated the idea more than she hated him. The only thing is that she wasn't aware of just how much she hated him when she agreed to marry him, she only liked him, she didn't love him like she thought that she had, but it was too late to back out now, she had made her promise, now she must keep it. She didn't speak to anyone about her doubts, as they would try and talk her out of it, she wasn't going to sit there and be something for someone to pity. Everyone around her could see just how unhappy she was, though they didn't try to address it, as they were terrified of Lily and if you're terrified of Lily, you shouldn't try and tell her what to do.

James was concerned about her, they were just friends, not the closest of friends but they were still pretty good friends nevertheless. He was in love with her, but he couldn't have her, she was an engaged woman and she deserved more than he could offer, he was certain that he could offer her more than that greasy git, but if he made her happy, he couldn't argue. He was concerned because she didn't seem quite herself, James had asked her whether she was alright or not, but she just answered with a simple nod and softly worded, "yes."

Of course Snape couldn't notice that she was terribly unhappy, he didn't care enough, all he cared about was that he had Lily, he had won her and his prize was there waiting for him whenever he would come to collect. Snape was only there for her when he felt like it, not when she needed someone there to be with, just when the time suited him best and Lily was well and truly sick of it.

When they were to be married, Lily would try to keep her distance, just as she did then, so she could actually stand being married to him, she hated the idea of being tied to him, but she didn't have a choice, she was far too noble to give up on what she had already agreed to. She would live through it until she died and that was final, she was too scared of Snape to leave, he gave off a real serial killer vibe and if she left, she knew that she would be killed, she would just go and buy a house that she could stay at for a while and then come home once or twice a week and just say that she had to work in London or something.

James was not in for watching her marry someone that she didn't love, and the way that Lily spoke of Snape, was a way that James felt more that it was of guilt and fright than of actual love. He wasn't going to watch another day go by when he could be helping her escape her current life. One day James was on his way to see Lily, he was going to mention it to her and just hope that he could be of some service to her. He knocked on the door of Lily's parents house, hoping that she would be there and not with Snape. Luckily for him, Lily opened the door.

"Hey Lily, is anyone home?" He asked, hoping that there wasn't, but if there was he hoped it was just her parents and that Snape wasn't there.

"No, I'm alone," Lily said to him.

"Ok, good, I need to talk to you," Lily motioned for him to follow her inside. They walked through the house to the kitchen where James sat down.

"Do you want some tea?" Lily asked.
