Luke knocked on the door that connected his room to Emily's, but she didn't answer. He knocked again and again and again, but got the same response.
"See if its unlocked,"Matt yelled from the bathroom. Luke took his advise and twisted the door knob, it was unlocked. He opened the door and walked into the room that appeared to be untouched. He scanned every crevice, but Emily was no where to be seen.
"Matt," Luke yelled,"Emily's gone."
Luke could hear matt's footstep behind him.
"What do you mean? How can she be gone?"
"I don't know. But how the hell are we supposed to find Emily if we don't even know her last name?" Luke asked, realizing that Emily's real life is a complete mystery to them.
"Wait. Since we don't really know her, she isn't our problem," Matt said,"She's like a lost dog that we found and brought home, but accidentally let run away."
Luke nodded, even though he didnt agree.

The sound of people talking brought Emily out of her slumber. She opened her eyes and scanned her surroundings. She was in her and Scotts room. She was almost positive that she passed out in a random bar, so how is she here? Was it all a dream? Her curiosity was at a high, so she threw the covers off of her and padded across the room towards the door. The sudden movement gave her a headache, but the relief of finally being home kept her mind off of it. She walked into the living room and saw Scott talking on the phone. Tears of joy sprung to her eyes and she ran to him and threw her arms around him, knocking his phone out of his hand in the process. He wrapped his arms around her waist and nuzzle his head in the crook of her neck. They both cried and held each other as tight as possible, hoping that this moment wouldn't fade away with all the others. The heat radiating off of him gave her the comfort she's been missing. The hole in his chest being filled. Everything was perfect until she remembered that nothing had changed - The pattern was still continuing. She left, came back and was forgiven. But this time she wasn't gonna forget what happened. She let go of him and wiggled out of his grip.
"What's wrong?" Scott asked, looking at her with his puppy dog, making her feel even worse.
"I can't do this." She said retreating to their room.
"Can't do what?" He asked, following her.
"I can't let you forgive me, because if I do we'll just go back to our old toxic routine. And I'm tired of taking advantage of your kindness," she said, grabbing her suitcase from the top of the closet.
"No. No. No. You can't just leave, not again," he begged, running to her side.
"I have too. But this isn't like last time," she said, packing up her clothes. He stopped her by grabbing her hand.
"I'll do whatever I have too just please stay. Please," he pleaded, getting on his knees, wrapping his arms around her legs. She looked down at his face and felt the hole in her heart grow. Every cell in her body wanted to fall into his arms and forget all the pain, but she couldn't do that. She had to fix herself before she could even think about being with him.
"I'm so sorry, but I can't," she said, faking confidence. She watched as the boy she loves shattered into a million peices, but she had to pretend that it didn't affect her. She zipped up her suitcase and rolled it out the apartment. She walked to her car and put her bag in the trunk. She was gonna fix everything, starting with herself.
