Chapter 5 (Jess)

We got into the car quickly after rushing all morning, I had already had a breakdown about my hair. I don't know how but somehow Lin helped, he was surprisingly good at doing hair and I loved how it came out. Once again, I wanted to put my playlist on but stopped myself before I could feel awkward.

"Hey, you can put your playlist on if you want, its good practice for the show tonight even though we are going to rehearsals," Lin said laughing, he keeps knowing what I'm about to do, which is nice that I don't have to ask.

"Thanks, are you sure you don't mind it mainly being you and the rest of the hamilcast singing?" I asked making sure that it wasn't going to be weird.

"Go ahead, you should just be able to plug your phone in and it will connect." He reassured me.

We both sang along to all the songs because it was mainly the Broadway musicals that were coming up. It was around a half an hour drive to the Richard Rogers, the music was doing its job in distracting me but when we pulled up to the theatre I instantly froze up. I couldn't move, it was as if I was stuck to the car seat. Lin noticed straight away and came around to the passenger side to help me.

"Jess, come on they are going to love you, trust me. If you get overwhelmed come, get me and I will let you into mine and Jon's dressing room, ok?" Lin really was the best at encouraging people and making their day better, he had already done this twice today for me.

I nodded as he pulled me out of the car, and I followed behind him as we entered the theatre. I was stuck to his side when we entered the stage doors, not knowing what to do or how to behave.

"Yo Lin! Who is this? You got a new kid?" Anthony had walked up to us first and I immediately got starstruck by seeing everyone.

"This is Jess, Vanessa and I are Fostering her," Lin explained, I knew that we would be having this conversation a lot today, but I was ok with that.

"Hi," I said quietly, I knew that they were literally the best people ever, but I was still scared.

"Let's get you introduced to everyone ok, come on." Lin brought me onto the stage where everyone was. "Hey guys I want you to meet someone, this is Jess, me and Vanessa are fostering her, can u guys introduce yourselves?"

Anthony started, "I'm Anthony, and I play Laurens and Philip, so I get to die twice in one show so that's great."

"I'm Daveed, and I play Lafayette and Jefferson."

"I'm Jonathan, but you can call me Jon or Groff, and I play the amazing King George the third."

"I'm Leslie, and I play Aaron Burr."

"I'm Philippa but you can call me Pippa and I play Eliza."

"I'm Renee and I play Angelica."

"I'm Jasmine but you can call me Jazzy, and I play Peggy and Maria Reynolds."

"I'm Oak and I play Mulligan and Madison."

"I'm Chris and I play Washington."

This kept going until the whole cast had introduced themselves. I was in shock that I was meeting everyone. I was sitting between Lin and Anthony while this was happening, I was actually in the same room as my idols, I wanted to cry.

"I'm Jess, Lin and Vanessa's foster kid," I said quickly but loud enough for everyone to hear me.

"Shall we get to it then?" Lin said soon after people had started talking again, "Alex, take it away."

"Where should I go?" I whispered to Lin.

"I can either let you into the dressing room or you could sit in the audience and watch if you would prefer." He replied quietly while listening to Alex.
