The start
Beep beep beep... The alarm droned on and on and on at number 7, Athena Drive until Aria managed to slap her aching hand onto the offending item. She flinched as her foot hit a heavy parcel. She stuffed it in her bag promising to check it out later, remembering the rain that night. Quickly she changed out of her pj's and pulled on her black sports leggings, a white top, hot pink socks, and white shoes, the latter she fumbled with when pulling them on. Her life had changed dramatically after the accident and everyone treated her like she would smash into a million pieces.
The room wasn't special nor ugly but had a standard single bed and an empty wall with spare space where her favourite painting used to hang. Now there was no point in hanging delightful objects in the room after the accident. A white wooden desk with a blue Ikea swivel chair was placed next to the large bookcase which held what seemed to be every single book that she owned.
She wearily walked down the oak staircase, listening intently to every creek that the stairs made, smiling inwardly as the sweet waft of pancakes drifted up to her. Her eyes were as glassy and vacant as ever. She guided herself over to the kitchen table almost missing the brittle, wooden chair completely until Luka swooped in. "Sorry about that little sis, I had to move the chair to get past." He explained with a hint of humour in his voice.
He wasn't often around the house as he was often hanging out with his 'friend-girl', Emily, but she adored having my brother around. She could still remember when he stood up for me when she got teased and how he made everything better. He inherited our mum's caramel locks and blue eyes where I got my father's brown hair and hazel eyes.
Life was extremely hard after the accident that occurred when I was 18, it set me back a lot in school and life. I still hadn't left home despite being 22 years old. I was blind.
Sorry it's short! As I said, 'quality not quantity'.
