I Remember You

3rd Person POV

After Bucky's rehabilitation, Nat, Bucky, Steve and Sam went to one of Nat's safe houses. Every now and then going out for a mission. But despite his treatment in Wakanda, Bucky would constantly have nightmares about a girl with red hair and a blonde. Bucky would be plagued of dreams about the caring nature of the red head, and the feelings he heard for her. And the stubbornness she shared with the blonde. The blonde was head strong and only trusted himself and the red head. Bucky got up and took a run to escape for just a bit.

One particular morning, Steve walked into the kitchen to find a young woman in their. Blonde, covered with weapons, full body armour and muttering in Russian. As soon as Steve entered the room, she had a gun pointed right at him.
"Who are you, and what are you doing in my safe house"
She yelled while clicking through safety off of her gun.
"My name is Steve Rogers ma'am, and this safe house belongs to my friend"
He responded harshly grabbing his sheild from the corner of the room.

"Liar"
She screamed
"This house belonged to me and my sister before they took her back"
Her voice cracked slightly but still held venom.
Naturally the screaming was gathering attention from the other people occupying the house. Sam came sprinting downstairs to also have a loaded gun pointed at his head. Immediately trying to disarm her, he ended up on the floor with the gun pushed to his back.

Sam, having worked at the VA, tried to get her talking.
"Who was your sister and what did she look like? We could help get her back"
Sam said making his voice calm,
"No one can help her now! She's gone. She's gone and I won't be able to have her back."
Her voice became a whisper. While her breathing became more calm and she'd moved Sam over next to Steve. As it finally calmed down, Bucky entered with a knife in hand after hearing someone that wasn't a person that lived there.

Seeing the blonde, he dropped the knife.
"James?"
The blonde asked confused,
"Do you know who I am"
She hoped he remembered her. Maybe he could help to track down her sister. The chance that Natalia was alive was slim. But she couldn't forgive herself if she was and she stopped looking.
"I think so?"
He replied. He knew he knew her, but couldn't remember her name.
"My name is Yelena, remember? Talia's sister"
She tried,
"Natalia"
He whispered. That was the woman. The red head that loved him. Helped him. Was torn away from him.
"Yes Natalia! Do you know where she is James? Please, oh god help me find her. They have her again. They took Talia away"
She pleaded. Someone she knew and trusted, alive and well, who might know where her sister is.

"Lena,"
He began
"I barley remember what Talia looked like, they wiped me"
As if summoned, Natasha walked down the stairs, huffing from being disturbed. One look at the blonde and the red head sprinted to her. Knocking her over and crying. She held Yelena as if nothing else mattered. Seeing the kids two girls together triggered something in Bucky and he sprinted upstairs.
"I thought they had you"
They spoke in unison.

"I don't get it"
Yelena whispered to Nat,
"The soldat says he doesn't remember you, yet he lives with you?"
"James is only just getting his memories back. I'm not going to force him to remember me. He remember Steve and that's all that matters"
The sisters whispered to eachother. Unbenounced to them, the blonde super soldier heard them. After dismissing his shock, he sprinted upstairs to Bucky.

Sam knew this was a personal moment and left the girls alone, going for a run.
"Do you still have his dog tags?"
Yelena asked forgetting they weren't alone,
"He told me not to take them off until he asked for them back"
She looked at the floor
"And he hasn't"
She began too tear up.

Upstairs Bucky was crying while Steve was trying to calm him down.
"It's her Steve"
He spoke
"The woman I love. Natasha was her. And I shot her!"
He screamed while sobbing
"I shot her twice. I still love her but I forgot her. I hurt her!"
Yelling again, despite the thin walls.
"I broke my promise"
He muttered and began to sob harder. Steve, not knowing what to do, sat there and hugged him.

Once they fixed Bucky's appearance. Bucky walked down the stairs, Steve in tow. Once he reached the girls, who were now sitting on the couch, he kneeled infront of his Natalia.
"I broke my promise"
He said, voice wavering and cracking while tears welled up in his eyes.
"I remember you and I broke my promise and hurt you."
He said in the same tone. Yelena gave the two there space and went to go talk to Steve. Talia spoke so fondly of him that she wanted to get to know him.
"It's ok James"
She replied softly
"You came back to me, that's all that mattered"
She whispered with a few tears running down her cheeks. At this moment, Sam walked in, looked at Natasha and went to go find Steve.

Sam ran into the kitchen to find Yelena and Steve talking about there different memories of Nat.
"Nat's crying?"
He said confused
"Nat never cries"
He repeated.
"Nat cries when it comes to the love of her life"
Yelena replied with a shrug,
"Bucky and Nat are in love?"
He asked more confusedly, and then passed out. Yelena looked at Steve who just looked at Sam and carried him upstairs. After a weird expression from Yelena , Steve had to explain himself.
"Sam can only handle so much in one day"
He said with a shrug and got a shrug in response.

Natalia took the dog tags off from around her neck, putting them in her open hand to show James.
"You made a promise you didn't have the choice to keep. I have kept these around my neck since the moment hydra separated us"
She spoke with a soft smile. He took the tags from her hand and put them back around her neck.
"Keep them"
He said,
"You deserve them since I broke my promise детка"
He spoke and brought her down to kiss him. The kiss was short but meaningful. Grabbing his hand, Natalia stood up to find the others. They had some explaining to do.
