Melody POV

The next day I got out of bed with difficulty. I guess yesterday's event made me think of the possibility that vampires are back in town. Grams from a young age taught me about all kinds of creatures and she has a deep hatred troughs vampire. She always says that the association with vampires brings only problems for the witches. I get her but I never judged anyone before getting to know them. On the other hand, the attack last night proved that they are dangerous witch is why I have to protect my own. I knew that I couldn't be compelled because I'm a witch but my siblings and aunt are still vulnerable to it. Grams told me that you should wear or consume vervain in order to be protected from it and I knew exactly where to get it from, Zack Salvatore.

I got ready for the day and walked downstairs to get my coffee. "Good morning my beloved sister," I say as I walk into the kitchen and see Elena already there

"Good morning to you too," she says and smiles at me.

"Do I look adult? As in respectfully parental?" aunt Jenna says as she walks into the kitchen

"Depends on where you're going," Elena answers as I pure myself a cut of coffee

"Jeremy's parent-teacher conference."

"Fuck I forgot that one was today" I curse myself, with everything going on I completely forgot about it

"Hair up or down?" Jenna says and puts her hair up.

"Sexy stewardess," I say and take a sip of my drink and Jenna lets her hair down

"Boozy housewife," Elana answers this time.

"Up it is. You're feisty today."Jenna deicides and turns to Elena

"Feel good, which is rare. So I've decided to go with it. Fly free, walk in the sunshine, and all that stuff. Where is Jeremy?" Elena asks and I finally notice that my brother is not here. What is up with me today? I need more coffee, yeah that's it.

"He left early. Something about getting to woodshop early to finish a birdhouse." Aunt Jenna answers but pauses when she sees the looks, we are giving her "here is no woodshop, is there?"

"no," Elena and I say in unison.

"Yeah," she says to herself and leaves.

"Do you need a ride to school?" I ask my sister and put my cup in the sink

"Yes, that'll be great," she says and we grab our stuff and leave the house.

The rest of the day went by in a blur. I had Elena's class today and I have to say that I was impressed with Stefan. Some of his opinions on the subject were very mature for someone his age.

At the parent-teacher conference, I have to say nothing major happened. We barely even started the semester and I didn't have anything really negative to say so the parents left happy. As I was leaving, I saw Jenna in Tanner class a bit upset. I walk in just in time to hear the best part
