It was getting immensely dark now in London. Streetlights were on, but there were so many trees around that it was practically impossible to even see the light coming through them. People's voices could still be heard. Rather a lot of people. It was a good thing it must've been around summertime in the timeline they were in, otherwise Emma would have a much harder time sitting alone on the park bench. It was hot, and extremely humid. The girl could hear the crickets chirping over by the multiple ponds situated in the area. Her hand reached out to grab another pastry, but she stopped herself. She assumed Hugo would also be hungry when he came to get her. Her brother would hopefully be back soon, and she had already eaten two herself. Hopefully. Emma could all of the sudden feel the tears threatening to fall from her eyes, holding back as much as she could.

What if he wasn't coming back?

In the midst of the darkness surrounding the park, an excessively bright orb came into her view. It was perfectly round, and shone a white light that the girl wasn't able to see through. She had to squint her eyes to see what was going on, tears strolling down her cheeks as she did so. A leg went through, then two legs. Soon enough there was a tall figure spinning their head around in different directions.

Was it an Alien?

Emma proceeded to shake her head, placing a hand on her forehead to scold herself. It must be her brother! Who else would come out of a strange white glow searching for her? She attentively watched as her brother, transformed into Bunnix, took a few steps back. Out of nowhere, another kwami came up beside him. Hugo looked around, quickly spotting Emma. "Oh, Emma!"

The girl ran to her brother and pulled him into a hug, tears rapidly streaming down her green eyes. "W-what took you so... so long? I've b-been waiting for... h-hours!" Emma could barely talk. She noticed Kaalki floating beside him, but was too mentally exhausted to ask as the bubble closed behind them. "I thought you weren't coming." She said letting go of her hug.

Hugo hugged her tightly, reassuring her she wasn't hallucinating. "I'm sorry Emma, I couldn't figure out how to come back here." They let go from their sibling hug, each slightly concerned. All they usually did was argue amongst themselves or even team up against Louis or Plagg all day. "I would never leave you here, you're my sister." (aw)

Emma smiled at him, feeling better. They were siblings, after all. They would look out for each other no matter what.

They sat down on a nearby bench, Emma hugging her knees to her chest. Hugo stared off into the nothingness of the air. They both heard a faint yet audible sound that seemed to be coming from Hugo. Emma looked at him on instinct. "What? I'm starving, obviously. I haven't eaten since this morning!"

"I saved you some British pastries I bought earlier." Emma pulled out a pastry from the paper bag and gave it to her brother, who smelled it and shrugged before taking a bite out of it. Emma watched as he tasted it for the first time, deciding whether he liked it or not. "I don't know what it is either, but the lady working there recommended it to me." He nodded before taking another bite.

Everyone had started to pack up already. Chairs and blankets were folded, trays of paper plates were thrown into the corresponding bins, and adults began loading the cars. The sun was setting over the horizon, giving a golden tint to everything it set its light on. The group had all said their goodbyes, and multiple cars were now exiting the parking lot.

Marinette handed over a picnic basket to Adrien, who was going back and forth to the car and back. She put her hands on her hips and looked around the picnic area, making sure she had packed up everything. She saw Louis chasing some pigeons in the distance and chuckled. "I'll go get the kids, you take the basket to the car, Kitty." She motioned Adrien to grab the large picnic basket from her hands. Adrien nodded and kissed her cheek before making his way up the small hill towards the parking lot, where their car was one of the only remaining to be taken away.
