"Briefing in five." Hotch said as he passed JJ and Emily back at the BAU.
JJ nodded and then turned back to Emily.
"We're not actually going to start a case are we?" JJ asked.
"If we do no ones going to be focused." Emily answered.
"Exactly, this is pointless. We should be finding a way to get Reid out of this." JJ said.
Emily nodded. "We should probably start heading to the brief room." They saw that Hotch, Rossi and Garcia were already in there.
JJ agreed and they walked in.
"Looks like we're just waiting on Morgan." Hotch said as they walked in.
"Sir, I don't think he's coming." Garcia said.
Hotch gave her a serious stare. Garcia fidgeted after seeing the look on his face.
"Call him." Hotch ordered.
"Uh yes sir, I will um do that right now." Garcia nervously said and with her shaky hands, reached for her phone.
"Hey, Baby girl." Morgan answered.
"No time for playing right now my love." Garcia said in the phone call. "Hotch wants you here for briefing."
"Tell him I'm busy trying to find a way to get Reid out of the mess I created." Morgan said in a snotty tone.
"Sir, Derek is busy trying to find a way to get Reid out of the mess I- I mean he created." Garcia repeated.
"Tell him that people's lives are at stake and he needs to come here so we can save them." Hotch was starting to get angry.
"Maybe you should just come here." Garcia whispered.
"I wish I could but tell him I need to find evidence that proves Reid is not guilty." Morgan said.
Garcia looked up from the phone and at Hotch. "He needs to find evidence that proves Reid is not guilty."
"Give me the phone." Hotch demanded and Garcia nervously handed it to him.
"Morgan, we all wish Reid were here right now and we all know that what he did for you was heroic. But you need to come here right now so we can do our jobs." Hotch said and then hung up without letting him respond.
"Where'd JJ go?" Hotch said looking around the room.
Everyone looked around in confusion. Hotch looked over at Emily who looked suspicious.
"What are you hiding?" Hotch asked Emily.
"Nothing." Emily squirmed in her seat.
"I'm a profiler. What are you hiding?" Hotch repeated.
Emily gave up on keeping the secret. "JJ went to go meet up with Morgan to find evidence to prove Reid is innocent."
Hotch squinted. "What else."
"There's nothing else." Emily lied again.
Hotch looked at her and waited for her to break.
"Okay fine. I kind of agree with them. We're no good doing another case if none of us can focus. I say for Reid and Morgan's sake, we just find that piece of evidence that's out there that proves his innocence."
Everyone was scared to admit that Emily was right so they nervously shook their heads in agreement.
"Alright fine. I'll talk to the board and try to get another team to work on the case." Hotch finally caved in.
