On the car ride over to the cabin, the whole team was stressing.
"I don't know what I'm going to do if they're not there." Emily bit her nails.
"Yeah I mean if anything happened to them..." JJ didn't finish her sentence.
Hotch was driving, and they had their sirens on. When they arrived, they bolted up the dirt road and over to the cottage.
With their FBI vests on and guns at the ready, Hotch kicked in the door after yelling "FBI!"
They scattered across the cabin, but it was super small and only one floor, so they found them right away.
Everyone gasped after seeing Spencer bleeding out. JJ and Emily were especially freaked out.
"Douglas Bryant, put down the knife and show me your hands." Hotch along with the others were pointing their guns at him.
Bryant was holding the knife up in the air, having already stabbed Reid with it. Reid was just sitting their with his eyes drooping. It looked like he was going to give out any second now.
"You're not going to shoot me." Bryant chuckled.
"I wouldn't be too sure about that." Hotch said.
"Okay well then do it." Bryant spread out his arms, completely revealing his chest. "Shoot me."
"I don't want to shoot you. Just put down the knife." Hotch said.
"You don't want to or you're not going to?" Bryant asked.
"Oh believe me, I want to. But duty calls. So put down the knife and show me your hands." Hotch said.
"Does putting the knife down into Reid's leg count? Because if you don't put down the guns, that's what's going to happen." Bryant said.
With that, everyone slowly set their guns down on the floor and showed him their hands.
"Now your turn." Rossi said.
"Ugh you guys are no fun!" Bryant stomped around. After a few beats he dropped it down on the floor. "I wish you the best luck at saving Reid." He said sarcastically and raised his hands in the air.
Hotch came over and aggressively forced the handcuffs on tight.
He let out an 'ow' noise and then Hotch led him out to the vehicle.
JJ and Emily rushed over to help Reid and untie him and Morgan. Rossi called 911.
JJ placed her hand over Reid's stab wound. The blood was seeping through her hands.
"Stay with me Spence! You're going to be alright, just stay with me!" JJ was calling to him. Reid's eyelids were super heavy and he would've given anything to close them but he couldn't. Not yet.
"Listen to the sound of my voice! I'm right here! I'm right here with you." JJ's voice soothed Reid making him give in and close his eyes.
"No! Spence!! Open your eyes! God, please!! Don't leave me!!!" JJ cried.
Once Morgan was untied, him and Prentiss rushed over.
"Come on, kid! Wake up!" Morgan yelled, gently pushing his head around.
"Reid open your eyes!" Emily yelled.
They could all hear the sirens getting closer and closer.
When they arrived, people were rushing him into the ambulance calling out: "he has a very weak pulse! Hurry!"
He was rushed to the hospital.
~~~~~~
I woke up in a hospital bed in hospital clothes. IVs we're stringed and attached to all different parts of my body. I struggled trying to think of the last thing I remembered.
Garcia, JJ, and Emily were surrounding my bed.
I smiled at the sight of them.
"Hey Spence." JJ said in a relieved and soft voice. The three of them were smiling at me in sorrow.
"Hey JJ. Hey guys." I said to all of them and tried to sit up. Unimaginable pain shot to my stomach when I tried to sit up. I groaned and slumped back down.
"Don't try to sit up. You were hit in the gut, stabbed in the side of your stomach with metal, and stabbed in your stomach." Emily explained and paused. "Your surgery went well."
I lifted up my shirt to see stitches in the two parts of my stomach that were stabbed and bruises all over from being hit.
"Be honest, how bad does my face look?" I let out a small laugh.
Garcia handed me a mirror.
There were bruises all over and a few little cuts. It was bad, but nothing that wouldn't heal.
"Thanks for saving me." I said.
They all smiled. "No Spence, thanks for being strong enough to survive all that." JJ said. She stroked her hand against my cheek. I leaned my head a little on it.
It felt so nice to be comforted by her. I've never loved anyone in my life like I love her. And them.
Morgan walked in and the girls left.
He looked down at me the same way the girls did. He didn't know what to say so it was quiet for a bit.
He finally pulled out a cup of jello. "I got you your favorite."
I smiled and reached for it but he pulled it out of my reach.
"Hold on a moment though." Morgan said. "There's something I need to tell you first."
I waited for him to start.
"No one I know could've gone through that much pain and still come out alive. You never gave up. That's what I love about you, kid. Through all that brain and knowledge, you're a little fighter. And the strongest guy I know." Morgan explained. "I love you, pretty boy. You know that right?"
I showed some teeth in my smile after hearing those words. "I know." I looked up at him in love.
He smiled with me and handed me the jello and spoon. "You get better, you hear me kid?"
"I hear you." I smiled and opened the jello.
With another smile, he left the room.
Through all that pain, something good came out of it. My family. No matter what happens to me I know that my family will always be on the other side waiting for me with open arms.
