I sat on the plane looking out the window, I was listening to some offline music and drinking some water. It been a while since I had really ever been alone. It, ironically feels more lonely than I'd expect it to be. Sure, for the first few hours it was calming, however it got boring quick.
Soon after the plane ride was over, I called an Uber home from the crowded airport and to my home, as we turned the corner I saw, the same young ginger. I blinked twice, 'why is he here?'
I avoided eye contact as the Uber drove passed him to which I then heard his shouting, I finally just ultimately decided it'd be cruel to leave him there. "Hey, can you please pull over I'd rather walk from here." I nodded to myself, "Of course." I handed him some cash as he pulled over and I walked over to Hinata.
"Hi." I stated, "Hey! I was just taking my little sister out for a walk because she was dying to go out for one then I saw you." He smiled, "Oh, that's co-" I started, "No I wasn't! You forced me to come out here! You were looking for her! I want to go home it's cold!" The girl frowned, "You, uh, can come over to mine little girl, I know yours is kind of a long walk."
"Finally, someone with human decency." She muttered, I giggled a bit, I'm sure she doesn't see much of it living with Hinata.
I unlocked my door to see Tenma feeding our fish, "Hey, I'm back." I smiled he instantly ran over and hugged me before noticing the two children next to me. "Oh, you're Hinata, correct?" Tenma asked, "Yes, and this is my little sister, Mr. Tiny Giant." Hinata's eyes sparkled, "You never let me introduce myself!" The younger girl complained.
I grabbed my phone and asked for their guardian of some sort's number, to which I got their mother's. I told her her kids were over here and she should probably come get them. She seemed worried and panicked considering her kids had just sneaked out to go visit a random 21 year old and her boyfriend. "Yes, and my name is L/n." I said. I hung up as soon as she said she was in her way, to see the two kids going through all of our stuff.
"What's this?" Hinata shouted from across the room holding a manga. "Oh! Don't touch that! It's not finished and it's not like it's any good so!" Tenma panicked running over and reaching for it.
"Fishies!" "Oh please don't tap on the glass!" I asked of Natsu. To which she ran off to explore my home more, "Hey is this you?" Hinata asked looking at a framed photo of Tenma when he had still played volleyball. He was smiling alongside his teammates and they were all in their uniforms.
"Yeah," Tenma nodded putting away his mangas, after awhile there was a knock at the door, "Hello, I am so sorry for the inconvenience." I apologized, "No, no I should be the one apologizing, this is so unlike them." The woman said as she looked down at her two kids.
"Yes, I helped out with volleyball at your son's school, I know how much of a good kid he is. I can tell something like this is totally out of the ordinary." I nodded trying to ease the situation. "Ah, so visiting you was Hinata's idea." I tensed realizing I had just indirectly told on Hinata.
"Well," I tried to reason, "Hinata you are grounded for two weeks!" She scolded him. I looked away guilty for a moment before saying goodbye to the three and closing the door and sitting next to the door not even bothering to go to a real seat.
"I feel so bad." I said closing my eyes. Tenma laughed a bit, "So not funny! The poor kid just got in trouble." I shot him a glare, "You have such a soft spot for him."
"I don't, he's just really passionate about volleyball, I want to help him to be better, I want to see him win and fail, and-" "To play along side him? Yeah, I've heard the speech before," Tenma smiled sitting next to me, "Have I said that before? I felt like deja vu." I said, "Yeah, pretty that's what you told Kasanoda around the time we had first started becoming friends." Tenma smirked.
"I did?" I thought for a second, "Oh that's right, it was after the third time we had played a game of volleyball together."
"That feels so distant but also like if had just happened a few months ago." He sighed, "Wish my passion for the sport was still as strong, but also thankful it isn't." He spoke softly, not to take pity on him but I wish there was something more I could do to make him happy again. I felt my phone buzz in my pocket, "Coach."
"Oh, well I'll go to bed just come whenever your done speaking." Tenma said getting up and leaving, I answered.
"Hello?"
L/n, there's a magazine publisher coming to write an article on the team tomorrow, since you aren't here they are sending an interviewer to your home on Tuesday. Is that okay with you?
"Oh, well I suppose."
Great, they'll be taking a few photos of you as well, just as an FYI.
"Thanks for the notification, Coach." I smiled.
Anytime kid, anyways I'm busy, places to be.
I chuckled a bit, "Got it."
I hung up and went I've to my room, I founded Tenma fast asleep, I had noticed he looked a bit tired but this was a bit unexpected, I was only on the phone for five minutes. I shook my head before trying to fall asleep.
