"Johnny, you've got no reason to be nervous," Paul stroked his fiancé's cheek. (They were gonna get married!!!!!)

"But I'm meeting your dad! I-I-" John panicked, missing one of the buttons on his shirt.

Paul redid his lover's buttons as he spoke, "Baby, everything's gonna be alright! My dad's gonna love you and Jules! And if he doesn't, fuck him. I love you and we're gonna get married and we'll live on a farm with a million dogs and cats."

John chuckled softly and kissed him tenderly, his arms loose around Paul's waist.

"Papa!!" Julian came running in with his little shirt unbuttoned, "Daddy!!"

"Jules!" Paul scooped him up and spun around, "D'you need me to do your buttons?"

"He also did my buttons," John told Julian, "He's very good."

Julian nodded and sat on the bed, kicking his little feet happily as Paul buttoned him up.

Paul kissed his son's forehead loudly and took him off the bed, "Go put on socks and shoes, yeah?"

Jules raced away as his papa put on his jacket and his daddy laced up his boots.

"It's gonna go great, Johnny," Paul affirmed his fiancé one last time with a kiss on the cheek.

John kissed his nose sweetly, "I love you, Macca."

"Love you too, Johnny boy," Paul pecked his lover's lips and took his hand, walking over to where their son was.

"You ready, Jules?" Paul asked, grabbing his son's hand with his free one.

"Yeah!!"

~~~
Paul knocked on the door of his childhood home, pushing down all the nerves.
John smiled at him and squeezed his hand.
The door swung open, revealing Paul's teenage brother, "Paul!! I missed you!!" He hugged his brother tightly, "I haven't seen you in ages, you fucker! And now you're getting married?!"
Paul grinned and nodded, "This is my fiancé John, and our boy Julian."
"Shit, am I an uncle now?" Mike asked, glancing at the small boy clinging to his papa's leg.
"Mike, don't be rude, show them in!" Paul's father's voice came from inside.
John scooped up Julian in one arm and squeezed Paul's hand, his own hand soaked with nervous sweat.
"Dad!" Paul released his fiancé's hand and embraced his father.
"Paul, my boy!" Jim grinned, "You gonna introduce me to your family?"
Paul beamed at his father and went to show off his lover and son. "This is John, my fiancé, and his son- our son, Julian."
John smiled and shook his future father-in-law's hand, "You made a brilliant son," he said awkwardly.
"So did you, seemingly," Jim nodded to Julian in his papa's arms.
"Jules, will you say hi?" John whispered to his son.
"Hi..." he said shyly.
"Hello, son," Jim smiled kindly, "How old are you?"
"I'm 6!" Julian said proudly.
"You're practically an old man!" Jim laughed.
John set Julian down with a fond smile. Jim ushered them to the dining table, which was loaded with food.
"John, are you vegetarian as well?" Jim asked politely.
John nodded, "Paul turned me," he laughed slightly, "Said he wouldn't kiss me unless I brushed my teeth after eating."
"This kid," Mike began, "Is he yours? Biologically?"
John nodded again.
"Where's his mum?"
John stiffened and Paul grabbed his hand in affirmation.
"She uh- sorta died..." he stared down at his plate.
Mike's eyes got big, "Oh- I'm- I'm sorry mate..."
John shook away the sadness and put on a tight smile, "Are you at Uni, Mike?"
"Nah, not yet," Mike replied, "I will be next year, though."
Jim set down a bowl of pasta and some breadsticks on the table, grinning at his grandson.
"So my son's getting married, eh?" Jim said as he sat down. Oh great. Here comes the interrogation. "Did you ask him or vice versa?"
"I asked him a few weeks ago."
"Did your son approve?" Jim narrowed his eyes.
"He was the one that tried to set us up a year ago," John laughed slightly.
"Because Paul was his teacher? And you decided it was alright to date your son's teacher?"
"I checked. It goes against none of the school guidelines," John retaliated, "And he isn't Julian's teacher anymore."
"Where do you work?"
"The local paper, but I also give guitar lessons and I'm writing a children's book in my free time."
"How do you expect to make time for your family?"
This seemed to trigger John, so to speak. "Julian and Paul are both gone from 8 to 4. I work from 8 to 3:30, my boss gave me a bit of leniency because I work hard. The lessons are only on Sundays and afterwards I take them to the park and Julian gets ice cream. I've been a single dad since I was nineteen, so don't even try that with me," John glared, Paul stroked his knee.
Jim relaxed and smiled smally, "How old are you, lad? You look pretty young."
"I'm 24."
"Do you love him? Truly?"
"Wh- of course I do, what kinda question is that?"
Jim smiled and turned to Paul, "I like this one. He's good for you."
Paul grinned lovingly at John, "I like him too."
John smiled back and kissed Paul's cheek.
"Eww papa!" Julian giggled, his face covered in spaghetti sauce. Paul chuckled and wiped his son's face.
~~~
"See Johnny?! I told you it would go great!!" Paul exclaimed as they drove back home.

"I mean apart from the bit where your dad interrogated me and I snapped at him," John smiled crookedly.

"He loved you! And Jules!" He reassured his fiancé.

"I like him!" Julian grinned, "He was nice!"

"I'm glad you think so Jules, love," Paul smiled at his son.

"I love everyone in this car!!!" John shouted suddenly, love swelling inside of him. "You, Julian Charles Lennon! And you, James Paul McCartney!!"

"You're a bleeding sap, Lennon," Paul rolled his eyes fondly.

"Jules, do you think Paul Lennon or John McCartney sounds better?" John asked their son, whose eyes were drooping closed.

"What about Lennon-McCartney? I mean, it's a mouthful, but..." Paul shrugged, his cheeks colouring.

"Lennon-McCartney," John smiled, "I love it Macca."

Paul kissed his cheek and turned to look at their son, who was sleeping soundly in his carseat. "Jules is sleeping..."

"Paul?"

"Hmm?"

"I love you. So much. And I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you," John smiled softly.

"I love you too, love. More than you'll ever know."
