"Honey? Are you awake?" I hear a familiar feminine voice say quietly. My eyelids flutter open to reveal Katelynne, my mom, leaning over me. She smiles "Great! We've got a huge day planned! You and I are gonna do some modelling for YouthQuaker today, then the whole family is being interviewed by BryanStars, THEN Kellin has a surprise for us all!" She explains, squealing excitedly. "We dont leave to start our day until 12pm so you have 3 hours to do whatever you want!" She lightly pecks my cheek, I nod and she walks out of my room. Cool. I'll make a youtube video! I'll tell my story, in the style of Amanda Todd, using cards and marker pens. No speaking allowed. It'll be in black and white, for affect. I write all my cards out in appropriate order and set up the camera Katelynne bought for me.

" Hey guys, its Star :3

Today Im going to tell you my story,

Its quite emotional and there will be talk of abuse, self harm and suicidal thoughts etc,

Ok so, my mother died giving birth to me. I never met her.

My father abused me since I can remember, at the age of 5 he taught me how to self harm,

He told me to do it often because I was a worthless piece of shit.

Of course I obeyed him, hoping it would delay the abuse.

It didnt. If anything it made it worse.

He would take everything out on me. He told me I was a mistake and it was my fault my mother was dead.

He told me I was worthless. He'd pick me up by my hair a lot. He'd throw me against the wall and kick me in the ribs. I still have scars.

He broke my arm twice, my wrist 3 times and he even broke 1 of my ribs.

When I was 7 he got "fed up" with me and decided to dump me on a country road to die.

He nearly succeeded, but luckily a carer found me.

She took me to an orphanage where I spent the next 6 years of my life.

Unsurprisingly, nobody ever wanted to adopt me.

I didn't stop self harming, nobody knew about it so nobody told me to stop.

I still believed I was worthless, ugly and stupid.

I've always been into punk-rock music, Im a huge fan of Green Day.

2 days ago the orphanage got a phonecall, somebody wanted to adopt me.

They wanted to meet me the next day (yesterday)

yesterday I started listening to a band called Sleeping With Sirens.

In the 20 minutes I spent listening to them, they changed my life.

Their music is just...phenomenal.

I did a cover for their song "Low" as some of you will have seen.

However, I didnt know any of the band members faces.

When I went to meet the couple who wanted to adopt me, I liked them both instantly.

Their daughter, Copeland, was too adorable to describe.

I showed them my cover of "Low" and then the man, who came with his wife and daughter to meet me, sang the chorus to that song.
