Three | Party

The first thing that Demi's eyes landed on as she stepped through the main doors of the bar was you. You was wearing a blue bodycon dress that hugged you in all the right places. Your hair was tied up in a high ponytail, exposing your neck which Demi's eyes trailed across. Demi's mouth even salivated at the sight of you, that's how incredible you looked. A smile formed on her face as she began towards you as you conversed with Madison.

"Happy birthday, Squirt" you smiled as Demi wrapped her arm around you and pulled you into a hug. Your body tingled at the very touch. Her hand seemed to linger on your lower back as she pulled away from you. "You're finally 18" you lightly giggled.

"I'm finally legal" you cheered, Demi and Madison laughing. Your eyes locked with Demi's for a moment before someone passed you a drink. Before you even had the chance to take a sip, Demi took the glass out of your hand. "Hey" she slapped your hand away and took a sip of the liquid.

"Hmm" she pursed her lips as she handed the glass back.

"What the hell was that, Lovato?"

"You may be 18 but you're still not legal, Y/L/N" you rolled your eyes and brought the glass up to your lips. You hadn't even realised that her hand was still sat on your lower back. Your body involuntarily tingled as her finger ran along your spine. "Did you get anything nice for your birthday?"

"I got this dress" you did a twirl, Demi subtly licking her lower lip. "I also got this necklace off Maddie" you pulled the necklace away from your neck so that Demi could see the charm.

"That's gorgeous" you bit down on your lip and giggled.

"Your parents brought me the matching earrings as well."

"Y/N" Demi was lightly pushed out of the way as Lili wrapped you up in a hug. Lili is one of the popular girls from school. She's always trying to grab at your attention, it obvious that she has some sort of crush on you. Now, as beautiful as she is, you don't feel it because there's someone else you like.

"Hi Lili. Thanks for coming" she widely smiled as she pulled from the hug, making it obvious that she was checking you out.

"Thanks for the invite. I brought you a little something" she held out a little gift bag. "It's not much but it's your birthday so I had to get you something" you flashed her a smile, trying hard not to laugh as you noticed Demi roll her eyes over Lili's shoulder. It was obvious that Lili was flirting with you.

"Thanks Lili" you took the bag from her, dangling it between your fingers. Lili continued to stare at you, batting her eyelashes. "I-I'm going to open this later with the rest of the presents. Thank you though, Lili" she nodded.

"Okay, cool" she continued to nibble down on her lip. You had hoped that she'd get the hint that you wasn't interested.

"Hey, Squirt. You wanna dance?" you cursed Demi out in your head at the fact she used the nickname that she had always used for you but you couldn't have been more thankful for her interruption. You nodded and allowed her to drag you away from Lili who seemed to pout as she watched you walk away.

"Thank you for the save" Demi lightly laughed.

"You're welcome. You do realise she has a crush on you, right?" you rolled your eyes as you lowered the gift bag down onto the table with the numerous other gifts people had brought with them.

"Oh, I know. I've known for months."

"You not interested?" you watched Demi who averted her gaze down to the floor.

"No, I-I..." Demi glanced up to meet your gaze. "I kind of have my eye on somebody else" you felt your cheeks beginning to heat up. You watched as Demi's lips lightly tugged at the corners. You couldn't be sure that she understood where you was going with that confession but the smile that took over her face made you think that maybe she did.

"Why didn't you ever say?" you were interrupted before you could reply by your Mom.

"Hi Honey. It's good to see you" she enveloped Demi in a hug. "How's college? Oh, and how's that handsome boyfriend of yours?" you rolled your eyes at the dreamy look on your Mom's face. Demi lightly laughed as she met your gaze.

"College is good. I'm on the road to graduate and the boyfriend no longer exists" your Mom lightly pouted.

"I am sorry."

"Don't be. It's for the best" her eyes again moved to meet yours. There was a sparkle in her eyes that made your insides quiver. You wonder if she knows the effect she has on you?

"You coming home once you've graduated?"

"Yeah, as much as I like Dallas, it isn't home. I miss everyone too much when I'm over there."

"It'll be good to have you home, Honey" your Mom leant to kiss Demi's cheek, giving her a final hug before she disappeared. The positive about having a major crush on Demi is the fact that your entire family loves her. A negative though is that she's Madison's older sister. What would Madison say if she found out that you have a crush on her older sister? Would she ever be okay with it?

"So, will you be happy to have me home?" you nibbled on your lip, trying hard to ignore the fact that she was smirking at you.

"Of course. You're like my sister" she rolled her eyes as you giggled. It was obvious in that moment that she knew. She knew that you had a crush on her. All that you could hope for was for her to feel the same way about you. Oh how amazing that would be.
